[HELP] Computer Virus Issue(s)

Try this if you have not done already. Open command prompt (Start+R and type CMD and hit enter)

  1. Type "cd" and hit enter
  2. Type your external drive’s letter, e.g., “E:” and hit enter.
  3. Type “dir /a /w” hit enter (displays all file names)
  4. See if you have a file called “autorun.ini” and/or “autorun.INF”
  5. Type “notepad autorun.ini” (or autorun.inf) and hit enter. (notepad opens with details. Read and you’ll know if that file is native HD info file, usually not more than 1 line. If not, copy the content and paste it here.

(all the commands to be typed without quotes.. I’m giving very basic guide here since I don’t know your skill level.)
