Help, I cleaned my pc and now it's not turning on

It’s been a while since i last cleaned my pc so I thought I’d remove components and clean. After using blower for all the parts and reinstalling them my pc isn’t working. It lights up, CPU fans spin then they stop spinning. There’s no error LED indication in motherboard too.

Assume you have reseated ram and checked all power connections again? Any debug codes or lights? Has happened to me a couple time, always poorly seated ram.

Make sure CPU fan connector is connected to CPU header and not case/chassis fan header on the motherboard.
Clear CMOS using the on-board pins or physically remove the battery and hold the power button to drain all power, the psu should be turned off for the 2nd method.
Remove the ram stick check if the pc power stays on and EZ debug LED power up to show DRAM error, Clean and reinsert RAM contact pins and make sure it’s pushed in properly.
If you removed the Processor as well check if you have bent or broken any of the CPU pins on it.

No debug codes or lights.

After removing CMOS battery for a while and putting it back, it’s running continuously but not booting as I’m not seeing any red green white leds and no display

After CMOS it’s running continuously but still not booting.

I did kinda mess up the cpu pins but have straightened them and it did seat properly in the motherboard. Even before pins were bent the PC did the same.

After removing all Ram it’s still the same, running but no error LEDs

Are GPU fans spinning?

Yes all are spinning

motherboard gone

Yeah, heard to diagnose but is there a possibility you broke something in mobo during cleaning? That’s what happened to me last month. Sorry mate but if you can test with another mobo, you might get confirmation way or other. :frowning:

I just used blower as usual, i went overboard with the cpu cleaning and caused slightly bent pins.

How do I find which is the actual culprit?

I’ve always doubted my psu but what if it’s the mobo or the cpu? Or both?!

If the lights stays up ON and there’s no EZ debug LED showing errors with no RAM installed = CMOS is not getting cleared or BIOS related issue.
If you did the manual CMOS clearing then I would suggest using bios flash back to reinstall/update the bios or try powering the pc without the processor installed to force the bios to reset and enter testing again. If the CPU error shows then all you have to do is just reinstall the processor and power on the PC and it should run fine now also make sure you have the DP/HDMI cable connected and properly plugged into to your GPU.

when turning on if no screen it’s mobo.

Ohh, if pins bent, my money would be on cpu but no way to tell from here (for me anyways) :frowning:

Good news is it’s possible to straighten them up. Use magnifying glass and straighten them 1 at a time. if you are patient and careful, you might be able to fix them.

How to do this for Asus tuf x570 gaming plus motherboard??

I have a mobo with the exactly same issue. The system keeps on restarting on its own because the pins on motherboard for cpu are bent. Am thinking of trying to fix this myself but havent got time since.

But i did straighten them and it did seat in motherboard by itself. Do i need to do it again perfectly? Could it have damaged the motherboard itself??

Did yours show motherboard diagnostic LED lights while powering on or are they blank too?

Nothing lights up just the fans spin and pc keeps on restarting on its own, both case and psu fan.

Sorry for the trouble you are facing. But this is exactly why I refuse to clean my pc. I don’t have the money to fix/buy something in this economy if something just goes poof due to cleaning.

I thought it’s am4…is it? If it’s am4 and pins on cpu don’t look perfectly straight, my.money is on cpu but it should be fixable, unless pins are broken. Maybe share some pictures?
