I don’t know if it’s good in real life but both the IDU and ODU look exactly the same as one of the models at my home. 100% chinese look. Even the insides look exactly the same as my 7-year old AC. My ODU has aluminium coil though.
You need to personally verify the remote for advertised features. I have faced this problem. Their showroom remote had tons of features but the one they delivered had some blanked out buttons. BlueStar is a shady company. Commercial arm is their main bread and butter.
Edit: I haven’t noticed anything “heavy duty” in these models. Perhaps they are trying to ape Mitsubishi.

I would like to end this confusion with my experience -
I have both Daikin 1.5ton and panasonic 2 ton
I bought Daikin 7 years back, no major issues or gas leak, once it had a cooling issue and guy came changed thermostat for 1.5k including visit charge. No further issues and man this ac never disappoints, turn it on and room is chilled in 10mins Room size 16x12 with One side sunlight after 12pm
Then family grew and bought a 2 ton ac room 16x12 One side sun light, was thinking like you panasonic have wifi and inverter to save bill blah blah. After one summer I am planning to sell this or put petrol on it and burn. I live in north and in may june temp goes burr 45+. I am paying bill for This AC which is pure shit, cooling like a air cooler, compressor trips every 30mins. Had to put something over it so it stops tripping. Called service people twice, they just come with one digital thermostat and put in front of ac put temp to 16 and show ac is giving 13-14° cool air, and don’t bother about compressor getting turned off.
So I don’t know about new daikin ac but if you are comparing ac cooling with new panasonic which I bought 2yr back just take daikin. Leave the wifi bs aside, you pay the bill for cooling. if you need get a Smart switch and connect to ac it will make your ac turn on off with wifi or a mi smart home device which has remote control feature for non smart devices.

I am looking at options, want something hassle free for long term regular usage, so looking at 5 star split options.
My room is small, 12x12 but decent space is taken up by furniture and stuff. Main problem is humidity ( through summer and monsoon), only need a bit of cooling say 5-10C, most of the time probably around 5C or lower.
Will combine it with dehumidifier ( which is working great ).
We actually need 3 acs for house with 1 to be replaced, very old 2 star window ac, but will start with 1 first. Maybe others in diwali sale when ac demand will be lower.
I think 1 ton should be enough for my room for my use case ?
So far i see almost universal praise for Mitsubishi and LG, Mitsubishi for hardware and LG for support. Not sure how Mitsubishi support is in Mumbai.
1 ton 5 star LG is 40k ( before discounts if any ), Mitsubishi 1 ton 5 star is 45k ( GR series [here ](’
)). Difference will be larger after discount.
1.5 ton 5 star LG is 46k while Mitsubishi GR is 58k.
What makes better sense ? Dont care too much about price diff, but looking at whats worth it.
For a smallish room, will 1 ton be more efficient ? if not, then 1.5 ton would cool faster right ?
Many say that inverter acs are more prone to pcb failure, but also that inverter ac is best for regular usage. What do you think ?
i am in the same boat. want a ac for my mothers bedroom. So i was looking at 1.5 tonne 3 star Ac. Already got LG 1.5 tonne AC, its okay im happy no complain so far, but somehow i feel LG cooling is slow.
Run time would be 5-8 hours a day

Found these after through video of Vineet and Grapvine.
What i found is that - Daikin is tad better than panasonic in efficiency and power consumption compared to Panasonic. But panasonic cools faster than daikin.
Daikin quality has come down after they are made in india now.
Even I was confused but when i saw and checked the ODU, seems like Daikin is better and best in cooling rather than fancy features than Panasonic, but also better in energy saving
Pretty much what I was thinking. I don’t think star ratings depreciate that quickly. Though it is true that after some time older model’s star ratings aren’t true anymore.
