yeah…but the warranty may be different for different regions.
heres an article in TT . A bit old but useful.
Techtree.com India > News > Hardware > WD Raises Warranty to Five Years
Also the stickker on my HDD says 5 year - onsite warranty. Unless i am seing things, i will confirm this by opening my cabinet and check again( dunno when that will be :)) - but the lazy guys always buy WD
Draz, the TT article mentions this -
So you will have to open your cabby after all
Well, i’ll try to register as soon as i get the drive in my hands

montylee:
After few days of searching in Nehru Place, my hardware dealer was unable to find Seagate 250GB SATA-II hardisk (7200.10 with 16 MB buffer), so he got Western Digital 250GB SATA-II (with 16 MB buffer).
I just wanted to check whether this Western Digital harddisk is performance wise good…
I think the model no is WD2500KS
Its a great hard disk, just neck and neck with the hitachi. I’ve bought one (WD2500KS) and am very satisfied…Price was 4.8K in August (Mumbai)
@ Chaos wrong buddy…I got a 5 year warranty back in August on the same drive. Its part of their door to door replacement scheme. And they’ve sexed up their RMA dept in India as well…

Is this drive better than Seagate 7200.10 250GB SATA in terms of both performance and reliability?
Yes or No?

Could that “someone” please repeat the verdict for my sake…
Seagate is faster, but the Hitachi is more reliable

does WD fit in between these two?
If you are talking about WD2500KS, it’s performance is similar to the Hitachi , though it hasn’t got NCQ it doesn’t matter in single user environment
