nice article there
Thanks m8
simplest thing to do is use foobar and enable resampler to 48kHz. Rest I don’t really care ![]()
thats a nice link there.. any audiophile wud bookmark it rightaway..
No audiophile would use winamp ![]()
that sounds right.. me no audiophile n i use winamp.. heheh
Yep, the writer mentions at the bottom that a similar article on Foobar prompted him to try out the same with Winamp.
On another note, how do you Foobar fans deal with the horrible UI ?
Tried Foobar looks, Foobar formatting strings.. but nothing quite making up for it
i think the ui is decent enough.. what more do you want
![]()
Its just a blank window with very minimal control, equalizer/volume control isn’t displayed right on (or am i doing something wrong?
)
Even my Yahoo IM window has more goodies stacked up than this
Hm… its very minimalistic since thats all thats required. Atleast I never use an equalizer. The best equalizer setting is flat :). I guess most audiophiles will agree with me on that ;). The rest everything is there. It even supports multiple tabs which can have multiple playlists.
Foobar has many 3rd part ui’s available for download.
You need an excellent speaker setup to appreciate Foobar’s no-nonsense flat sound.
Rest of us using cheapo speakers need to make do with cheap equalizer effects reproduced by winamp or wmp10 which obviously result in loss of clarity but it’s still better than the totally crap quality of normalized mp3’s on such speakers.
foobar + asio plug in = ![]()
dont use equalizer either.. coz that way you have to adjust it for each song.
Yup ASIO is the way to go assuming ur snd card has an ASIO driver ![]()
