How to get to Pune from Vashi ?

Hi ppl,
Firstly I wanted to know the name of the place at Vashi (and how to get there) where I can get buses and cabs easily to Pune.
Secondly,if anybody has any inputs on my following ‘to be implemented’ plan, kindly pour suggestions.

I have joined the long list of people who travels from Mumbai to Pune every weekend, I had this brainwave to take a bus from Vashi hoping to cut my travelling time by an hour.

My starting point will be at Goregaon (Dindoshi), from here I plan to take a AC bus to Vashi (duration-1Hr)
From Vashi I plan to board a volvo (1.5 - 2hrs to Wakad).

Thus my total travel time will be - 2.5 to 3hrs
Compared to my current travel time of 4 to 4.5 hrs (1Hr to Dadar and 3 to 3.5 hours from there)

I know there used to be buses available just after the signal below the Vashi flyover off late i have been seeing those buses stopping after the Left we take to enter Palm Beach from the old Panvel highway.

AC Volvo buses make a stop at Vashi flyover and take passengers from there. Your plan is a good one, by not going to Dadar, you save a good 1-2 hours from your journey time. I did that Pune-Mumbai-Pune route umpteen number of times during my stay in Pune.

Best way to travel is the Volvo bus, followed by Cool cab split between 3-4 people, and lastly by train.

You could also try getting to Borivali and taking the bus from there, but then that adds 30 mins (Goregaon to Borivali) and another 1 hour (for bus to reach Eastern Express Highway).

Getting to Vashi is your best bet.

The place below the flyover at the junction where all buses/cabs stop is Vashi Plaza..

You can also opt for those tourist vehicles which drop you till Pune for 100-150 Rs. They stop near Vashi highway /end of fly over.

Check with raksrules… he also does Pune Mumbai Pune almost every weekend.

Yes i do do travel Mumbai Pune almost every weekend and doing that since past 4 years :slight_smile:

But my travel is from my office in Hinjewadi, Pune to Borivali on fridays and back on monday morning and there is a in company bus service (not initiated by company but by group of people in my company) who arrange the buses every friday and monday.

The name of the place is Vashi Plaza… you’ll easily get a bus or cab throughout the day..

vashi plaza it is whre u will get the pune bound buses halting enroute to pune..

You get buses near Vashi plaza, on the highway under the flyover.

If you need to book tickets, there are many tourist shops in Vashi plaza on the side facing the highway who book tickets for tourist buses. Also, at that stop, many private vehicles who’ll take you to Pune.

But i would advice against doing this. It is bit risky.

you will get Neeta/Metrolink.. etc Volvos from Vashi Plaza below the flyover as already pointed out but only before 8/8:30 am…

After that the only options are the Scorpios/Qualis which stuff 10 ppl in a vehicle or the Asiads /ST buses…

better option, book the MSRTC Volvo @ msrtcors.com and the Borivali (Chamunda circle) to Swargate bus has a pick up at GOREGAON EAST POLICE STN.
