Ideal system requirements

Dude don’t you think this is what shd be the ideal system requirements of most of the games of today so that most of us can run them just fine.

To play @ 64048032,lowest settings @ avg 30fps
500-1000mhz varying on game
128mb-256mb ram
16mb tnt2-64mb geforce 2

To play @ 1024*768,highest settings without aa and af @ avg 30fps
2ghz ± 10%
256mb-512mb ram
64-128mb graphic card equivalent to radeon 9600pro or for dx8 seires geforce 4 ti 4xxx and higher

won’t that be great if such optimizations are done so that atelast 95% of the games follow these requirements.

then a 2-3yrs old system will be more or less fine even now.

It all depends on what games you play, rest assured TNT2 is worthless now. For Doom 3 you require atleast a 2ghz system with 512mb RAM to play even at 640*480 setting, ofcourse an Nvidia card will help.

can doom3 not been optimized to run on a 64mb geforce 2 to give avg 30fps @ 640*480,lowest settings

also,min of doom3 is 1.5ghz,384mb ram ain’t it?

also,isn’t the ideal setup suggested by me for 95% of the games.

30 fps ? ha ha . it hardly gives that much on my geforce 4 mx 440 which is similar to geforce 2 . it swings from 5 to 30 depending on the situation . but i have to say its okay most of the time :slight_smile:

very sooon the mx440 is gonna become worthless soon :(( and i`ll be left with playing no games!!! :((

how abt geforce 3 ti ?

Geforce 3 ti 500, was a decent card will play all the games at medium detail. But ATI Radeon 8500 is better. Geforce 4 mx was a useless card, I am surprised you can yet game on it ? It doesnt even have shader support.

i don’t have a geforce 4mx.

also,can geofrce 3 ti run doom3 and hl2 better than geofrce 4 mx 4000 and run at med settings for those games at 800*600?

how abt ti 200 geforce 3?

what is wrong in knowing the capability of such old cards,everybody can’t afford to buy a new system each yr.

how well would my system be able to play underground 2 ,which settings would give smooth play ,say abt avg 30fps?
will i manage 1024768,all settings maxed with aa and af off
or 12801024,or someamount of aa and af
bought most components some are left

what is left is :
cd -rw,where do i find asus
cabinet,tell good one with proper cooling,ventilation etc for 800-1800 without psu
powersupply is left
mouse pad is left

i just bought corsair ram
512mb ddr 400 corsair ,said to be cl=2.5 probably for 2800+tax only
bought 2 modules

are you interested in ddr 550,contact netweb technology or something
