India-Pakistan current war like situation discussion (Pahalgham)

Why is it a bigger problem?

With each counter strike the cost goes up for them as does the time between attacks.

Because that is a political loss for them. A military loss has only resulted in their coming back stronger if you look at history.

We don’t need to go to war to break that country. We just need to assist forces inimical to do the job for us.

Nobody disputes this as we see senior terrorists given state funerals with senior militarily officers in attendance willl only reinforce that point.

Hate is a fire that can only be extinguished by one’s own choice. It burns within humanity, it has burnt since its inception, it will burn till its extinction.

We are going in circles so pointing to the start and the fact that we are paying for this as well -

Because you’re still thinking in terms of a permanent fix.

I don’t agree with what Surya said that they will attack us again soon.

We got a good five years after Balakote.

They are going to need time to plug holes in their system before the next strike. By which time we will have acquired more capabilities.

If they jump the gun they will be made an even bigger spectacle than has happened already.

Yes otherwise this will never stop.

We should be proud and happy we did not have to make any sacrifice for five years. Unfortunately the problem never went away and here again we are still talking about the same thing after 25 laid down their lives. And we will talk about this exactly same topic again.
The sooner we realize that it’s gangrene and needs to be amputated, the better. Antiseptics or bandages do not work on dead tissue.

I wouldn’t say never stop but it will taper off

Yes we will but not at the frequency that was the norm ten years ago. Can you see how things have progressd since the 00s.

You and others are advocating a cure that is worse than the disease.

You continue to think it’s a disease which can be cured. It’s dead tissue which needs to be cut away. There is no cure.

This is just 0.5% of the level of incompetence, stupidity and lies you can expect from pak. And imagine some people here are willing to trust everything coming from pak army just to further their anti modi agenda

To add to the civilian factor:

Where are you guys getting your news/analysis from? Could you rate the sources. Here is mine:

The good ones:
Col Raina - No nonsense. He lives in JK so has first hand experience.
Gen Ravi Shankar (Gunner’s shot)
Sri Iyer (PGurus)
Gen Rajeev Narayanan - Good but sometimes I feel he is imagining things

The bad ones:
Aadi Achint - Annoying as f**k. His juvenile attempts at humor/sarcasm is off putting. Unfortunately, he gets good guests.
Sumit Peer - The guy has some emotional issues.
Sanjay Dixit - Would be tolerable if stopped giggling like a girl during debates.
Gaurav Arya - More of a comedian. Can’t take anything he says seriously.

Best to avoid pak sources right now. Their Army’s reputation has taken a massive hit and will need some rehabilitation. Their behavior/messaging right now is irrational.

The telegram group war and gore has been pretty reliable for me and collects lots of sources and tries to classify fake/genuine as much as possible

BTW, did we hear anything from Gen ALM Fazlur Rahman last week

From a messaging POV, this operation was 24 carat gold.

Pakistan : “losing isn’t an option, even at the cost of dignity!”

Rightly put

^all good

I joined this guy when he had less than 1k followers because the General was on his channel. Stayed for a couple of years and then moved on as for some one that started off in English with no politics I found he started moving more to Hindi and indulging in politics.

you CANNOT mix military with politics. A number of people do this because it builds followers but it badly skews assessments.

The weird thing was him insisting on verifying members. I told him there is no such requirement on YT. And I was never going to join his WhatsApp group.

Seems to have had a falling out with Gen Shankar who gave his fledgling channel a start. Initially thought he was from the south since he said lived in Mysore. Maybe but he’s a Punjabi.

Great for a pep talk

Pastor Dixon is a retired civil servant that knows a lot of stuff.

He’s become a talking head and less of a soldier. His forte is info warfare. Very good at skewering the other sides narrative and then going on the offense. That’s his main draw.

This is the part I would like you to expand on.

What do you see in Pakistan that gives this impression

Not cured but made less malignant. Your thinking is binary. There is more grey here between those two extremes and you don’t need to go to the other extreme to achieve our objectives.

I find this way more realistic than idealistic cutting them out. You haven’t thought through it have you.

… because all are from south?

moved on … because of Hindi or Politics? You don’t know Hindi?

Seems to have had a falling out with … because he is a Punjabi ?

Am I getting you correctly or my English is so bad that I failed to understand?

That is another problem we have on our hands. We continue to “think” all these years even after so much bloodshed and more to come. We are great thinkers. I give you that.
It’s time to stop thinking and come to the realisation that it is indeed binary. Either you stop it once and for all or you cannot.

Then that objective isn’t ending terrorism. We are all delusional if we have any objective other than that.

Col Raina is from J&K. All good as in you can trust what they say. Professional.

Both.

This is speculating but I think the general objected to the politics part. No Masala with the General. He’s not in it for the numbers like Aadi is.

Real military is supposed to be apolitical. Have to get on with whomever is in office and not have preferences of one party over another. Orders are orders.
