Someone is selling their sparingly used Keychron K8 for 5k. Is it worth buying? Or should I look into a newer one instead at this price point?
where are u buying it from ?are u going to test the product yourself or are u paying in advance
there were different configurations for this keyboard -
clarify regarding his specifications and so on then approach accordingly
For around 5k you can get Aula f75 or VGN a75 brand new. Not worth paying so much for used keyboard when there is lot of good options at this price point.
I did not want to create another thread, and as this thread has been inactive for quite some time now, I thought it would be better to post my query here.
Please suggest a wireless keyboard-mouse to me. The only 2 criteria for them are that the keyboard has to be mechanical and the combo has to be under a budget of 5K. If the budget is too restrictive, I will think of extending it depending upon the situation.
People generally consider 5-6k as a good budget for KB (AK820 or F75) & 3k for mouse (like VXE R1).
Evofox Ronon wired is under 3k, considered good, can pair it with VXE R1 for total of 6k.
I want to add to my OP that I’m not looking for something blingy like with LED lights and such, as my usage is not gaming but specifically typing, and I want a full numpad too on the keyboard.
Most of the 2-3k full KBs will have rainbow RGB backlight, which even I find annoying. A simple white backlight would have been good but sadly no.
Maybe just buy Kreo Hive at 3k with brown switches, not the best quality, expect it to develop issues in 2 years (same can be said for other cheap brands like Zebronics, Cosmic Byte, etc). Its backlight can be controlled, so not rainbow LEDs.
In my opinion, spending a little more and going for a keyboard with proper hotswappable keys, and of a good brand will be a better bet.
As someone who exclusively uses mechanical keyboards, I did find a lot of difference between the lower priced keyboards and higher priced ones. Right now, most of my keyboards (I have 6) are either Keychron or Glorious. In fact, I have put up my low-profile keyboard for sale since it has not seen any use in quite some time.
My work area is accessible to my 2-year-old, who regularly tests the durability of my current Dell keyboard (non-mechanical). So anything that has “attractive RGB lights” will attract the kid like a moth to a flame. Any weakness in build quality shall be brought forth by the in-house designated quality tester. So yeah, rugged build quality is of utmost importance.
Any keyboard with controllable rgb software or even without software but supporting rgb controlling keys also support turning off the rgb completely.
Agreed but text visibility isn’t great in such cases with shine-through keycaps w/o backlight.
Forgot about this, yes for shine through keycaps the rgb is kind of mandatory even if at lowest brightness. Closest would be single colour backlight keyboards with just the lighting pattern customizable with keys.
I use a few keyboards with backlight and shine through keycaps, and the visibility is fine, as long as there is decent enough light.
@OMEGA44-XT Depends more on the key-cap colour, I think.
Black keys with white shine throughs do fine, while the light grey ones have terrible visibility.
@LaatSahab - I think a single colour backlight where the lighting can be set to low will work. As far as RGB is concerned, it is not just kids, even the adults like anything with nice lighting.
It is rare for the lights on my RGB keyboards to go uncommented upon whenever I bring it out into sight!
