Is this a good time
to buy a phone between 11,000 and 17,000? Please share recommendation!
They say even low end phones will have price increase this year due to ram price situation. Nothing CEO is on record saying mobile prices may increase by upto 30%.
If you already know you need one in the coming months, now is not a bad time to get one.
Yes, buy now.
CMF Phone 2 Pro is still a good overall phone. There are Chinese options like iQoo Z10x & others which will likely have a better battery life (will get origin OS update soon which will improve the UI experience). Do get 8/256GB model.
Quick-fire question ![]()
Between the
, Samsung M36/A36, and CMF Phone 2 Pro — or any other good alternatives — which one would you recommend?
Samsungs have an inefficient SoC. Also its battery capacity is low by 2025-26 standards.
Pick Edge 60 fusion for its camera, if you prefer that. Curved screen & UI issues are its cons, but still a solid choice. Note that Indian model has 5500mah battery.
CMF phone 2 pro has the lightest UI among the 3 IMO, so should be smoothest for this performance class. Battery optimisation is good, so battery life is good.
Realme P3 Ultra — are there any reliability issues? What about Poco? The Vivo/iQOO screen looks dull compared to the Oppo K3x in YouTube comparisons.
If Samsung has removed so many bands to unlock the CMF Phone 2 Pro, OnePlus CE 5 has been added to my wishlist, but do I really need to spend ₹22,990/23000?
Nothing major that I read online against P3 Ultra, but sales volumes would be lower as well.
Nord CE5 & P3 Ultra have performance which is really a step up from CMF Phone 2 pro or Samsung A35, your call if its worth it, but IMO it is, a good 30-40% uplift in CPU performance will help in the long run.
But as mentioned CMF Phone 2 pro is a good deal for its price.
Any specific model from Poco? or should I skip?
Skip Xiaomi, Redmi & Poco because of UI & battery optimisation.
Agree but have to say, the themes in Mi store are just in a league of their own compared to all other brands. I have other brands phone but using a redmi phone just for its themes. There is even a theme that practically makes miui/hyperos look like Nothing OS incl its signature font.
It’s taken me 3 years to find out my redmi phone has themes. What.
P.S. Search for “achromaticui” in above sites.
I wouldn’t recommend redmi/poco phones at all.
- First of all, their software is absolutely worst of the ones I have used (which includes color is, Oxygen OS, OneUI, lineage etc).
- Build quality of their devices has been going down since 2020.
- Service centres are extremely bad.
Any specific example? I know theirs is not the best software but I would say it is above average for a typical user (aka non serious gaming). Just one example, their dialer & sms app have pattern based call blocking & keyword bases sms blocking feature which I haven’t seen in other brands stock OS.
That is true for other brands too especially Realme & Samsung mid/budget range models.
This is subjective for almost all brands in India as it depends on your city/location/specific service centre.
By your logic the only option is pixel phone..pure vanilla.
I have been using MIUI and Color os both are fab yet I any day prefer custom rom os over any os.
Build quality of even a bmw has gone trash so forget about phone.
Tell me one good service centers for an brand which has a good records from jk to kanyakumari?
You mistook what I said. I said compared to the os I listed miui was worst.
I don’t give a flying fuck about service centres outside Delhi. But mis service is extremely bad in Delhi.
Between CMF Phone 2 Vs Oppo K13 I will choose K13 since I am using it and its great.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro offers a cleaner NothingOS, potentially better cameras with OIS, and NFC, while the Oppo K13 5G boasts superior battery (7000mAh vs 5000mAh), faster 80W charging, stereo speakers, a brighter screen, and IP65 dust/water resistance, making the K13 better for power users needing endurance and features, whereas the CMF is for those prioritizing software and camera versatility.

I’ve had 2 experiences with Mi service in Delhi/Gurgaon, one for a battery change, 1 for a screen replacement, both out of warranty. Both were smooth with nominal charges. Maybe I was lucky or you were unlucky, but just wanted to offer a counterpoint. I guess like all brands with outsourced service, it depends on the service center and the staff.
I had visited 4-5 service centres for my phones hardware issues. They were extremely bad during handling it. Pretty sure their internal policies are responsible
They never had issues with battery replacement though
Years back, during 2gb 4gb ram era, whenever I recommended redmi/mi phones I would suggest +2gb extra for mi phones. But now every phone has 6gb ram.
I gave up on mi due to their optimization issues. I have a redmi 9a. After every update they gave more issues. Before it used to be good enough for use. Now, they brought touch issues and lag after update. (I have used Mi 11x, Mi 10T).
