This laptop was bought in 2013 or 2014. It was used by my father only for stock market purposes during traveling, otherwise he is a desktop user. It was cleaned regularly. He has shifted to desktop full time long ago so I feel its time to let this laptop go.
It never had any motherboard problems. I would say in 10 years, total time it was used is less than 6 months.
List of major problems it had :
- Processor fan was replaced 5 years ago. Works fine now.
- Battery was replaced 2-3 times with original battery.
- Keyboard was replaced 2-3 times, last 2 years ago. Original keyboard for this model is not available anymore so now it has a chinese made keyboard.
- Hinges got rigid 5-6 years ago which has caused little gap between upper body and lower body. I applied machine oil and screen opens smoothly since then but the gap still remains and has not progressed.
- Its Wifi is limited to 2.4 Ghz. I have flashed a whitelist unlocked bios so buyer can use any 3rd party 5ghz WLAN adapter in it. I have 4 WLAN laptop adapters but all are from 2013 and limited to 2.4GHz
I tried to cover rest of the cosmetic wear and tear in the photos. It works great for trading / casual browsing / MS Office apps / watching videos limited to 1080p 30fps. It has 2 RAM slots, upgradable to 16GB. The processor is not BGA type so it can also be upgraded to i5 or i7.
This is a local deal only as I want the buyer to check it completely. I dont have any SSD/HDD to give with it and buying new SSD will only increase the price.
