Looking out for face creams for 40+ men

Mens creams are said to lower testosterone levels, reduce sperm count and impact fertility. So beware before using them.

All creams* can lower teste if they contain phthalates, primrose oil and other harmone influencers. Most cheap creams do. And the most if not all deodorants, talcum powders.

Key is to buy from expensive, international brands. They usually have products free of such stuff. Plus have a look at labels.

WHich ones do you use?

I disagree, yes it does reduce it but leaving your hands and legs open in the afternoon heat (11-4) is gonna cause intense tan, burn, redness, aging and possible some sort skin cancer in future, whether cancer itself or melasma. If you really need thr vitamin d from sun, only go before 10:30 and after 4:30. Check your specific Uv index( just serach your city’s uv index online) and if its below 4 only then go without sunscree. For me, sunscreen also helps me with the heat (Personal opinion) and i dont feel the heat much at all on the parts i apply.

Apply 20 mins before going out, for indoor use only if youre hours next to a big window.

Are you talking about sunscreen?

I don’t use but my kid uses many and I tell her not to use any creams.

Do you know which cream does your child use?

Rice water creams I think.

Whats wrong with rice water…?

All brands say rice water but I doubt is it really rice water or just chemicals that they use.

We used to organic fertilizers once now what we are using. Same thing right?

Who knows what they are using.

Everything is a chemical, even water is.

And if youre concerned, just share a photo of whats being used ill take a look at the ingridients. 99% sure its not dangerous.

Thought this was the end of the conversation as it’s not possible to tan under a window.

I did try to get tanned once under a window and I just ended up really hot with no tan at all. Maybe it slows it down only

Anyways I was competing with this white guy to see who can become more blek and he won :person_shrugging:

Do Indian products list those ingredients?

They will list ingredients

Anyway, looks like we have a winner

You can get tanned, windows block UVB mostly but not UVA which causes deeper tan. Maybe the window was tinted, brown skin is more resistant to uv rays than white.

Not listing ingridients is smth only 1% or less products do even in india so dont have to worry there. You can safely look at the ingridients.

Dont buy from amazon, its best avoided as you can get duplicates unless the brand itself has said they seller there, that too only after cross verifying the seller.

Well there is no legal requirement to do so when I asked some detergent companies for the list.

Only medicines are exempt. Maybe this comes under that category. But otherwise no

The brand is listed as the seller in two out of three listings on Amazon. We’ll let OP confirm.

I just wanted the product linked so we know what you were referring to

There is a difference between detergent and things youre directly using on yiur skin ofc. They have to list it. If youre still unsure then only buy from pharmacies as products sold there are classified as medicines and undergo much stricter checks. Commercial Skincare doesnt come under medicines only ones sold by pharmacies or medicine companies are

Listing brand doesnt mean the brand is selling, but ig reequil might be selling on amazon

What i use and love is ahaglow s foaming facewash, its got 2% salicylic acid (for acne and pimples, its a BHA) and 1% glycolic acid (exfoliation, its a AHA). Feels really nice, the 100ml one lasts me 5-6 months using 2x a day.

No law to do so for detergents. Unlike in the west. That is what some person from Vanish India told me by mail.

Not everything they sell is classed as medicines. I used to demand a discount which they would agree with but exempted certain products like say Complan because it’s not a medicine

But all ingredients were listed. I think this is voluntary because misinformation about a product and the ability to refute that information can only be done when the ingredients are listed.

For instance all the funky stuff @Kloud mentioned is absent in your recommended product. It’s good

Yes. I have not found a single product in Indian retail, which is officially available for sale in India, that doesn’t list ingredients. So I suppose it’s legally required. The non-retail/B2B products don’t seem to have this requirement. \

Next time, see the ingredients on talcum. Most of them have primrose oil (technically it’s not a liquid like oil). It’s a phytochemical produced by plants to keep local populations of herbivores in check. It’s an estrogen-mimicking compound if I’m not wrong.

Same goes for phthalates. It’s in most deodorants. Do one thing: open this query on Google. It’ll list all of the products that publicly disclose containing phthalates. It’s a plasticizer in most of the flexible plastics. It’s a hormone disruptor. Additionally, if one has it in their system while having babies, it drastically disrupts the hormonal and sexual orientations of the next 2–3 generations.

It isnt voluntary its complusory to list the ingridients in order of percentage used.

Re equil ultra matte sunscreen is really good in water and sweat resistance and protection. It does have some white cast and you need micellar water or a cleansing oil to remove it though as its silicone based sunscreen (silicones are not bad)

I’m referring to retail products. Looked up the product in question and I noticed something has changed since I asked the question a few years ago. Good news is I kept the wrappers and can date it.

Prior to 2020, no ingredients listed. But circa 2021 onwards to my surprise they do appear. Never noticed it until now. So that’s good.

But its not the case for others. Amazon has high quality scans so you can read the back.

See this Ariel or this Surf. No ingredients there.

That would be so ideal.

Ok so I checked for a product I recently ordered
