Exactly, There should be a warning that if you deal on another platform or without a sale thread (Sale/WTB thread must be posted before any financial transaction) then forum will not help.
The Olx deal that went bad the forum shouldn’t involve and no such discussions should be allowed.
No sensible member will support such people when they break rule and blame
Buyers want to buy before things are listed in the marketplace and other members can send in their offers. Sellers want to sell as fast as possible without having to make the extra effort of creating a proper sale thread. It goes something like this, a member asks “What’s a fair price of my PS4”, someone sends a PM with an offer, they make a deal without a sale thread. If it goes smoothy, most people don’t even know that a sale was executed. When it goes bad, they start crying here, “I was scammed! Waaa…”
But that brings me to the point of having transparency and proper sale threads. If that is an expectation/requirement for a sale, should editing details out after a deal is made be allowed? I mean, some sellers remove most details concerning price once a deal is made, and it is not against the rules at present, but that has never sat well with me and any explanation for this behaviour (future prices should not be based on past sales etc.) just sounds feeble/entitled.
i want to know how do sellers edit the listing after?
i cant edit my post (1st post in fs threads)after around 24 hrs even when i havent posted anything else on the same thread.
Higher ranked/older members have edit privileges for longer periods. (Someone correct me if I am wrong here. Do not remember where I saw this mentioned and exact details of which ranks can edit for how long.)
Also, some deals conclude within the first 24 hours if the product is trending/in demand.
I think the price check should be brought back with a disclaimer that the Forum will not get involved if any deal conducted outside the classified channels goes awry.
Without the price check, I have no idea how to price the product I want to sell lest some people get their pitchforks out if I mistakenly price it too high.
