^ Why donât you buy directly from MEE? Buy their M11 tips and M9 Balanced tips for starters. Costs very less and you can choose USPS First Class @ roughly $6.XX as shipping method. Usually reaches here in a week or two depending on the location in India. I like their cases too
^ You can buy the complete set of tips directly from the MEElectronics website as well. 10$ only. Or buy the 5 pc set for ~5$.
MEElectronics Original Eartips for M11+/M11P+ Earphones (10 pair set) (Black)
I have the Mee M9, and they are designed in California but made in China I have read that M6 and M9 have the same drivers, but looking at your review I guess not. The M9 sounds a lot different after 40-50 hours of regular usage burn in, and I have supplanted the IEMâs with Headdirectâs bi-flange tip. However I am not satisfied with the sound, itâs so shrill that it hurts at med-high volumes without any semblance of bass. I do not enjoy any form of music with these. I have tried my friends Nuforce NE-6 and I find a huge difference between both of these. Sadly I yet am to enjoy the music the way I was enjoying on the older generation ep630âs
the only thing that sounded better then it was an amped RE-0 I heard at one of the meets. I think Faheem and Brendon were present back then âŚ
^ Yeah even Ive read that the M9s and M6s have same drivers and find it a hard to digest cause the M9s have a very recessed midrange , boomy bass and a little shrill treble. The soundstage on it is pretty amazing though.
Sahil , I wonder why you got the M9 ,when I had suggested you the M6 since you were upgrading from an EP-630 . An EP-630 to M9 isnât an upgrade but more of same league but different sound signatures. Also M9 canât be compared to NE6 , it is double the M9s price and indeed sounds much much better. Especially if you are an electronica listener you will love the NE6 the most.
Regarding the origin of MEE being USA , I wanted to imply that since they are mainly based in USA and thats there major market they seem to have lot better quality control compared to chinese market stuff . If you see even all Apple products are designed in California but made in china . Cheap labour and availability of OEM parts ;).
If one has the investment and the required expertise , he can start his own audio gear brand using OEM parts. Anyways lets keep that discussion for another day
I just got these order by a friend from US, at the current Amazon price of 19.86$, translates to Rs. 900.
Hopefully they are worth it, my first purchase of quality IEMâs
Lol, I had got the M9 before I spoke with you etc, but I guess I will upgrade to the NE6 once I get an opportunity. I had the Pl-11 before M9, and I would easily recommend it over M9.
Regarding the designed in California part, I just mentioned it cause thatâs what it stated on the box
great review .. any thoughts on comparing them with soundmagic PL 30s?
Nice Review Faheem.
So these are at par with my RE2 that you suggested.
At the time of purchase I was initially keen on M6, as it was something new and then you suggested to go for RE2.
I still love my RE2.
But these look more VFM than RE2.
Another nice review from Faheem!
These are indeed more VFM than RE-2 but I suggest people only after getting a fair idea of their sonic taste ,current/past IEMs etc. In your case I wouldnât have suggested M6 cause it might not suit you Have to be very careful while suggesting especially cause at times people just like to blindly follow the reviews or suggestions .If later they find it bass lacking or too bassy they complain .
You seem to be happy with your RE-2
Thank You !
Yes I love my RE2.
Somehow it doesnât hurt my ears, like the EP630 or even the PL30.
It sounds good.
^^ hmm⌠while I really disliked the sound of the ep-630, I had found it to be extremely comfortable; the small housings allows sleeping with ear on the pillow and the fit comfort depends on choice of tips after all.
I was not talking about the fitting, but the hurt from the sound output.
^^ That is a very important observation that most people tend to ignore - Comfort.
There are some IEMs and headphones that I really like but I canât use them for long because they are either heavy or have poor ergonomics.
For instance I have 2 headphones at home - YH-100 and the HD650. Even though the YH-100 sounds better than the HD650 I still reach for the HD650 since it is more comfortable to use.
That said, I tried the MEElectronics IEMs that Faheem had and they were all pretty light and were comfortable enough on my ears.
These M6 are very difficult to use for the first few days.
Also the sound signature changes dramatically based on the tips we use. Actualy you have to try all the tips to get to a conclusion.
MEElectronics has an epic Cyber Monday deal. They are selling these earphones for $14.99 (Rs. 685 approx). And they ship really quick.

ThanksâŚAnother nice review of TEâs in-house Audio expertâŚ
I want to know,
How much difference in between M6 and PL-21 in terms of Sound Signature ?
I read it produce much lows than RE-2, So hope it produce less low than PL-21, right ?
Please replyâŚ
^ The bass quantity as well as quality of M6 is much better than PL-21.Even overall sound is not really comparable as PL-21 is more of entry level earphone .
