police get paid from thief. no one going to help with you for 10-15k phone.
police not report stolen phone and mark it is as lost to show less crime rate in city/area. no one going to help. going to police is like doing suicide.
yes that’s true in most instances. They will not accept FIR & you have to show it lost / misplaced.

Try to contact the puja pandal organizer and see if they can get CCTV footage.
Otherwise trying with police is still worth a shot.
The more you wait the more your chance is less.
there is no chance.
East Hyderabad , not sure about which Circle PS
Bhai..dont mind me saying this but you or maybe your cousin is giving up too easily on this.
A little effort might work wonders. You never know.
In anycase this is no doubt still a long shot.
My friend got his phone stolen in Delhi metro and then 2 months later his laptop got stolen in our college campus poor guy. This was years 7 yrs back.
Bro its a lost cause. I see a lot of posts about delhi and agree.
Its never happened to me but know countless real incidents. I’m always cautious, that in no way means will not happen and I know it.
I would never want to engage with law enforcement here, give them access to me or worse my home. My benefit or not. Will take a loss and move on. Sad but true.
From your posts, I understand where your coming from. Feel helpless at times myself. That too living in delhi, pardon my ignorance but bihar should be a different game all together.
Pls don’t let me dishearten you. If you can, do follow the legal route. I know friends who have recovered a lot more.
OT- My major gripe is safety for women. I live in Delhi in the CM and top level official’s pin code. There is a well known all girls college here as well. There was a gangrape on independence weekend involving a celebrity. With all the off topic threads here lately, I’m surprised no one made a post about this (maybe I missed it).
Happens all over the globe sadly, specially in crowded places. Durga Puja pandals are ripe for these thefts. Just today this article was published by BBC News:
One iPhone led police to gang suspected of sending up to 40,000 stolen UK phones to China
The article above just goes to show how serious this problem is now in the UK.
2 guys tried to snatch my mobile in 2019 while i was setting maps while riding my bike, i kicked there bike so bad they had a great fall and were treated by public nicely
Haven’t faced anything like this here in Kerala. Alternatively it could also be that I don’t leave the house all that much. ![]()
