Need advice for pc build

Hello I’m NSR and I’m new to techenclave . I’ve a few question about pc building and I am requesting your advice . I will either asking questions or stating my opinion , pls feel free to answer them or advise me

— Use for PC–
I plan on gaming , mainly fps and I’m not rly interested in very high graphic games , I dont mind playing them here and there so I’m ok with playing on lower quality . I also plan on coding , video editing , photo editing and 3D modelling (Blender) .

  1. Which platform should I go for?
→ I prefer to use amd rather than intel because of stability and cuz I like red team , but I am ready change if u convince me why intel is better . But as ok rn l wanna stick with amd .
So due to the current ram pricing I am deciding to build on AM4 platform becuz its cheaper . I plan of upgrading my cpu , mobo and ram (to am5 or the latest) after a couple year of building my pc . Is this the right thing to do?

  2. PC or Laptop?
→ My computer is a laptop that is ~5 yrs old and as I’ve mentioned my plan with the pc u will be able understand that my current laptop is not suited for the tasks I wanna do and my parents also want me get a new computer . I really wanna build a pc since its price to performance is very good as compared to a laptop and I’ve tab or my current laptop that I can take else ware if I need to . I will mostly use the computer at home so I dont see a point in buying a laptop .

  3. Is this a good time?
→ With the current situation of the pc market is this a good time to build a pc bcuz ppl on yt are talking abt the AI bubble poping and what not , but I wanna know if I should wait or build as the market could become even worse in the future ?

  4. Budget
→ My budget is around 80k and I’m ok or more over I plan on buy parts from the used market as that will help me build a good price to performance pc . I plan on mix and matching i.e buying used and brand new parts . Pls feel free to recommend me pc build or ideas

that is it for now , I may post more in the near future

Hello, welcome to the forums,

  1. Intel or AMD doesn’t matter, what matters is the performance/cost. AM4/LGA 1700 would be fine but you should probably try for AM5 if the budget allows for it.

  2. PC for sure

  3. Not a good time, RAM prices are through the roof

  4. Check the pricing of DDR5 at your local shops, can you get 32gb DDR5 under 10k? If not DDR5 then DDR4 is mostly ok. Rest of the build will be based off this decision.

Possible AM5 build would be centred around the R5 7500F.

AM4 would be 5700X / 5600 / 5600X

LGA 1700 would be i5 12400F.

I found intel to be more stable although in terms of value for money its amd. Lower end intel board are absolute crap

If there is such a shop then it would have resulted in a stampede by now.

Getting a used good graphics card with no warranty & good condition is quite luck dependent nowadays.

What should the max price I should consider for ddr5 ram? is 16gb for 15k okay? eg: 8k / 8gb for ram ? and thanks for your advice and acceptance

hmm , since lambda suggested to build with am5 then I think amd is better becuz I will get support for more generation whereas intel changes its chipset every few generations

true 10k 32gb ddr5 was a steal even before the ramageddon , so rn 25k for 32gb is consider good i would assume .
As for used pc parts I plan getting them in person locally or visiting the seller and testing there itself , I do think getting is delivered is very risky

Go with AM5 …prices are higher than usual but it’s ok if you need it build it

Get a single stick of 8GB DDR5, browse the forums here, maybe someone can help you out with something “cheap” enough.

Pour rest of the money into an AM5 setup.

Oh I thought you said stability in terms of ram support, bios issues, drivers etc

Hmm , if I had to wait for the prices to settle down , how long would I have to wait roughly?

We all would be very rich if we could predict such a thing.

Get this if possible. You can add more RAM and probably save money for a good gpu and other parts. Wouldn’t recommend getting a used gpu anyways.

yeh that is also true , but its not main reason for not opt for intel

sure , I’ll check it out , thx btw

Sometime 2027 if u r looking pricing like October November 2025

  1. Your budget is too low for DDR5 at current RAM prices. Heck even DDR4 RAM prices have increased, so stick to R5 5600 or i5 12400. No stability issues in 12th gen but i5 12400 prices have increased, so R5 5600 is the better choice.
  2. Get mATX case, if you want something a bit compact, won’t cost more.
  3. No, but no idea when situation will get better, some say late 2027 or early 2028
  4. IMO try to find used CPU & RAM & maybe one of those open box SSDs to reduce cost.

9060XT 16GB has increased in price by 10k vs a few months back. I don’t recommend GPUs below it as this is equivalent to PS5 Pro. For used GPUs, if you can find 3060Ti/3070 for 16-17k, get that & live with it, although these GPUs are 5 years old now.

A rig like this was under 90k earlier.

understood thank you for your advice
