Will be used by my grandfather (87th birthday - gift for him)
He uses a smartphone which is about 6.4 inches screen size and is having trouble reading text on it properly. He thinks having a larger screen would be beneficial, hence looking for a tablet. Android because he is used to it. Needs to support SIM (5G will be a plus). I have never personally used a tablet, so not sure where to start.
Suggest a good tablet, android, with good enough RAM and storage. Budget 10-15K, can stretch a few thousands if needed.

Any particular reason to prefer Android? Generally older people find ipados more easier and secure to use because of it’s closed nature. Also in that budget the displays and performance are better than comparable android tablets.
Android might be better due to availability of supported software.. and easy connectivity between other android devices
More like what he is used to. He can use his Android phone with Marathi-Hindi-English text to speech without issues.
At 87 I don’t think learning a new OS is something he needs to be cared about
