Need to Upgrade Car Headlights, looking for suggestions

Hey guys, My triber has really poor headlights both LB and HB but HB is still ok for the occasional night driving, for everyday driving LB on this car is a very bad.

I decided on going with LED for the longer life and the simple plug and play installation.

After researching a lot many shops in my area dont sell brands like Osram, Philips, Bosch ones and almost every shop has some kind of unique brand which they claim are the best in the market. They also state that its a pain in the a-- to claim warranty with brands like
Osram, Philips, Bosch, is that true.

I need suggestions for H7 type LED lights that are 50 watts and also please suggest websites that are reliable and brands that are the best.

And lastly I am confused about the color temperature, I personally hate the pure white look of the lights these days.

I’m running some named foxfire 120w (60 each) 9005 for around 2 years and it has been consistent with its light output and a lot better than the hid that I was running before and waaaaayy better than the halogens that came with the car

If you consider brands like osram or philips they have limited output power so you will not be satisfied with the amount of light they put out

I would recommend buying something from a big shop

Most of them do handle warranty themselves

And the ratings on these no name brands are wild

My friend bought some 350w pair led that falls short to my 120w pair

So try to tell the shop to install and show the outputs before finalizing, if he refuses so next shop you go

And as for the colour pure white is the best for illumination unless you encounter fog

Which year model? Are the default headlight halogen? Do you know their wattage?

Whatever you decide please go with minimum wattage bulbs that you can manage and not the highest ones you can afford and the one with least scatter. This is not a question of affordability.

Be considerate of your fellow oncoming drivers. It will be safer for you that way in both life and money matters(traffic stops).

Get warm colored ones if possible.

Mine is a 2022 model with 55 watt halogens

The default ones are rated 55 watt so are you saying I could go for the same wattage in led or even lower like 25 watts

LED and HIDs are way more efficient.

My car comes with 55W stock halogen and I know for a fact that those look like candles in flood light compared to 35W HIDs.

My suggestion was to not jump directly at highest possible wattage but if available evaluate(not necessarily buy) starting with lowest possible wattage and move up to the ones you are comfortable at your speeds. You may find what you need at lower wattage which is ultimately safe for everyone on the road.

Yes. You can go upto the same wattage LEDs.

For anything higher , you will need a separate harness.

Do keep in mind that HIDs have a warm up time.

Lower wattage LEDs (not janky Chinese ones) will give you more light and further throw than your 55W Bulbs.

The low beam is a projector setup right? So LED bulbs should work well in them without much light scattering.
I agree to keep the lumens in check. I think a stock 55W halogen produces around 1500 lumens.

In case you haven’t tried.

Under your dashboard, you have the headlight leveler knob, adjust it to the maximum so the throw goes in the up direction.

In earlier models of triber this is a common problem.

After doing that, there is a screw adjustment on each headlight under the bonnet, which allows further height adjustment.

The best way to adjust it is at night, parking up against the wall, so can adjust and match the throw of each headlamp.

Check youtube there are many videos.

Mostly likely your issue will be fixed. If not and you want to buy original good quality stuff from OSRAM, Philips, Bosch.

Boodmo can be a option. H7 type is your low beam and H1 is your high beam, both are 55W.

Yeah I tried the headlight adjustment but the light output is the problem. There isn’t enough throw.

Also how can I avoid glare from oncoming traffic at night times, I really struggle to drive at night.

Keep your windshield as clean as possible. Any road grime buildup on the glass tends to cause glare.
I’ve seen some spectacles advertised as having glare reduction, however I’ve not tried it myself.

Other than that unfortunately, you need oncoming traffic to use low beam/non blinding bulbs.

Twilight hours pure white is the worst .

You can upgrade the OEM lights to high wattage Osram halogens . I run 100w halogens using a relay and the light throw is good .
Do you have fog lights ?

This will be a good idea, stick with H7 type halogen with color temperature of 3000k-3500k (still in the soft warm white range) but increase the wattage to 100W.

You have to wire it up yourself or from the aftermarket, because this will require external relay. Can’t just replace it directly because the default wire might only be made for 55W load.

Found some options, since the color temperature is not mentioned I assume it will be warm white, but can’t confirm.

It’s weird only the Bosch and Osram in 80W is showing this warning.

It is advised by many on youtube that using external wire harness and higher wattage than mentioned by the company will nullify the company warranty, is it true.

The philips ones conk off easily . Suggest Osram , Hella and Bosch . With Bosch the head light angle needs a bit of adjustment .
2 bulb relay Wiring harness kit is essential . Philips is good .

no Fog lights, but planning to get them , am looking for something in the 4000K range which will be suitable for both fog and clear road visibility.
dont these high wattage halogens come with really bad life time.

It does, but it’s a grey area.

I wouldn’t let them know. Will remove it before going in for any warranty related work.

Bigger issue might be with insurance companies, they like to exploit these kinds of things to make it harder to do claims.

Personally I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If I know the work is done right with the harness and relays. I am good.

They do when compared to 55W. This is where LED is better.

If you want to stay in the 55W halogen range, then don’t look anywhere else other than these two.

They are suppose to have better light output then the normal ones, hence expensive.

Just an update , I bought the Osram LED’s from Planet Care Care website, arrived within 3 days and they do seem genuine, they handle the warranty claims themselves.

Ill get these installed this week.

Although I stated that the LB were a real problem I went with the OSRAM H1 LED for the HB as many reviewers on youtube suggested that the Osram ones are great for this vehicles HB. I also went for this option as I have a couple of long distance trips planned in next few months on the highways.

Can you guys suggest a decent Halogen for the LB as I dont have the budget for LED for the LB currently, the night breakers and xtremevision at around 1500rs a pair although expensive their life times are very poor I believe.
