I am currently using it. It is a good. Except few operational issues- and there are plenty. But yes, it is good for collaboration. It is slow and that gets irritating. Notewise is actually good but there are two issues there: recurring monthly payments and inability to share folders.
Oh I wish they have android app. I am a heavy user with the need of pdf annotation
It is good but lacks stylus support. Can’t upload and annotate pdf
I wish it had stylus support.
I checked out Turtl and it seems archaic. No updates since long time. Also, pdf annotation is absent. In this day and age, it just doesn’t make sense really. I am surprised by the lack of good reliable options.
Update: I used a combination of OneNote ( for accumulating online content - has a desktop app ) and Samsung notes ( for reading and annotating PDFs ) in this examination season. Onenote synchronisation across devices is not realtime and one has to push updates at times if you want to work with your friend on the same note. Samsung notes works flawlessly if the pdf is not very big ( for real time collaboration I mean )
AFAIK, Logseq may struggle with large number of notes and supports only local storage(hdd or browser storage). You can manage with desktop file sync clients but its difficult.
Joplin is pretty solid but there’s no webapp. It can only be used on devices you own. If that’s not a problem go for it. It’s file storage format is also custom so the app is a must to navigate the notes.
If I may suggest, you can also look into trilium or trilium-next. It can be self-hosted and can also sync with desktop clients. Only drawback is that it doesn’t have a mobile app but its webapp is mobile friendly. It’s scriptable with javascript, has api to do nearly everything and notes are stored in db but not markdown.
I’ve personally used both joplin and trilium. Its really up to your preference and how/where you want to access notes.
+1 for Obsidian, it’s a game changer for me. The fact that you can link multiple notes/docs makes it very easy to revise stuff (I mostly use for educational notes).
Same here. I am switching careers and this whole Machine Learning thing requires a lot of quick jottings and notes. I tried using OneNote as earlier but it just doesn’t cut it. Obsidian rocks!
