The lack of a hotspot sensor on the 50 series will ensure the first time you have a black screen, it will be because of an overheated card.

Not gonna happen. Only professional users are gonna upgrade from 4090. Most of the used cards you’ll see will be from the 30 series, which are falling behind. Puget Systems showed a 10% improvement - 5090 from 4090 - in professional applications with some outliers. Even that may be worthwhile for hardcore money-making rigs, but this is a hold generation like the 20 series was.
