Air flow wise both look the same to me with plenty of mesh on all available side of them. In fact they have mesh on the side panel (behind motherboard, is it NZXT thing or a new trend for air flow heavy cabinets?).
I think you should go with what you like seeing. In my opinion H5 flow looks mediocre at best while H6 Flow’s fish tank style is rather unique without compromising on air flow like other similar style cabinets do.
I would seriously reconsider any current Nzxt H series case.
I might sound like a broken record saying this in every thread with case discussion where Nzxt H series comes up, but this is coming from experience.
The so called high performance mesh is useless to prevent entry of dust in Indian dusty condition. Fine dust that makes way in the PC even in air conditioned rooms in most part of the country.
The mesh does nothing to filter out this fine dust & it will settle on all components & be a real issue for AIOs & heatsinks & GPUs.
The lack of five dust filter is a huge negative suck should not be ignored in our environmental conditions.
i’d go with the h6 flow. the dual-chamber design makes cable management way easier than the h5, and those angled intake fans do a great job of feeding cool air directly to the gpu. shripad is right about the dust though. since it relies on the mesh itself rather than a fine filter, you’ll definitely be cleaning it more often. but if you don’t mind a bit of maintenance, the h6 is the better pick for both looks and performance
I ordered the H6 flow
I live in Delhi with this god awful AQI, but I don’t get too much dust in my room (where I plan to put and use the PC from).
Earlier i planned on only getting an air cooler for the CPU (Phantom Spirit 120) but now, I’ll switch to an AIO (probably Arctic 360) - and use positive pressure fan setup to avoid dust to some extent
I think I can get some aftermarket dust filters if needed.
Worst case scenario I might have to do some dusting monthly - which is mostly fine by me.
Thanks for the advice though, truly appreciate it - it helped me decide the cooler type.
In dusty environment all mesh filters fail anyway. Either a mesh filter is too fine and starts choking PC in a few days once dust gets trapped or the opposite where it doesn’t do anything like you said.
As a “jugaad” you can throw magnetic frame mesh filter over the intake but that too will need regular cleaning.
If you really need a dust-free PC you need to keep it in an area away from ground and away from windows/doors within a room that has minimal movement/activity and with a air purifier running.
Hah you said the same thing about aftermarket dust filters. By the way get a cheap air blower that will help with dusting.
