Open your Wings with Opera 10

A good short review…
Been a long time opera user now and i can vouch for this one being the best…

Buttery smooth on my oldie pc.. especially when in turbo mode..
cant say the same about firefox or safari..
but i think safari 4 gives me better download speeds..
Nice review anyway. and
OPERA RULES…

Interesting .. anything like Ad block plus for opera? Already using a hosts file, please don’t suggest that :face_with_tongue:

Will have to check it out, been finding ff a little bloated and slow of late and also a little buggy.

Built in to Opera already.

appreciable work darky.

Is it like ABP - Auto updating lists or do I have to manually block ads?

dying to put this in my lappie. have to go to a cyber cafe for that  I love opera anyday above other browsers

yeah. Opera is really the browser to use.. too bad FF and IE fanbois will never try it.

Its manual mostly. It usually take only a few days to get things ad-clean. There is some way to get the block lists, I havent used it.

Awesome review. Repped. Btw, Flash works fine for me on Windows 7 as well as Linux Mint. Try reinstalling the flash plugin if the issue persists. Also keep in mind that Opera will block flash objects if Turbo is enabled. You need to click to load flashobjects.

There are quite a few lists out there that you can use.

And you can always block any element you wish by Right clicking on the page and using the Block Content option.

I have used opera a long time back, when they only had the autoreload option. When firefox had the extention released I switched over and stayed there with FF.

Opera is a real good browser with its… eh! , neat professor like looks. (I mean the default theme. I never play with browser themes.). Would like to try it since it seems to be a little less memory hungry and load timings must be faster than firefox..

There was one feature i liked about chrome, the ability to kill any page with a proc explorer like interface.

Many times if i get stuck with a page in Opera v8 i have to kill the entire app and restart again.

So does v10 offer this kind of granularity to kill a page and leave the rest alone ?

or you can just right-click and go to Block Content.

I love opera…Looks superb too with custom themes. only has some minor quirks opening certain pages.

A very good review indeed.

And please add a few lines about the new Unite feature to your review.

(It may help get a few more converts)

People using Opera 10 beta - please upgrade to their latest build (By default it updates automatically while installation).
The latest build is very stable when compared to that of the previous build. I HAD problems of “freezing” if used for a long time (of course, its because of the beta…) in the previous build.

good review…but chrome 3 ftw…

Nice review
