MOBO A8N-E
Tried running the CPU ( 3200+ Winnie ) @ 2300 ( 230*10 - 1.46v )
RAM @ 383.4 ( 333 Divider @ 3-3-3-8 1T , 2.85v ) when it’s supposed to run @ 2.5-3-3-8 @ 400. ( Source CPU-Z 1.29 ).
Prime95 fails after just 2 minutes when running the Blend test and also the In-Place Large FFT.
HTT @ 3x.
PCI-E locked at 100 and PCI at 33.33.
From the above, I assume that the OC should pass test as I haven’t even reached my memory max. What do u suggest I do ? Am gonna run Memtest now.
Any suggestions ???
Maybe your voltage is not enough for running your CPU at 2.3GHz. That is the only thing that could be a problem.
What is the stepping of your CPU??? It is the code written on the CPU. If you tell us what that it, we can come to know if your CPU has the capability ot reach high speeds or not..
You can try increasing voltage but note that it is dangerous. And make sure you have proper cooling.
@Nikhil, any other way to get the stepping of the CPU ? Am pretty sure that stepping will be written on the CPU but taking it out would mean that I’ve to wipe the thermal paste off it and I don’t have the paste to replace it. I think it’s the volts. Increased the vcore to 1.5 and am running Prime95. Good so far. But the load temps when running Prime is 55 C. But the temps r high here in Chennai today. Am sure will be lower if I run Prime at night.

***No issues with the PSU deejay. It’s an Antec True Power 480. Should be the volts as stated above.
Thx Nikhil. And BTW it rained last evening here in Chennai and its been cool all night. Prime95 is still running and the max temp is right now only 48.

**Forgot something. My Transcend 2256 is Single-sided. The RAM chiips are named PSC. Anyone know anything abt. them ? BTW it seems that I’ve to indulge in seasonal OC’ing - OC in Winter when the Chennai temps r low ( Hope so ) and run at stock in summer when the temps r … well, everyone knows.
ya the rains do help a lot in cooling down temps…
i oced upto 2454 mhz… but load temps were around 60C.. not good..
but its been raining for the past 3 days and load temps came down to 53c!! lol
so i over clocked uptil 2560 mhz.. increasing my voltage.. but loads temps havent crossed 60C.. !! but im back running my pc at 2.2 ghz… (less that 50C load is what i want and at this speed i get it at less that 50C)
63 deg C is waaay too high. At least get an Asus Star Ice and cool your CPU down… IT is going to evaporate otherwise!!!
Seriously — such high temps are bad for an AMd 64. Don’t allow temps to cross max of 55 deg C. Anything above that is waaay too high… Watch out and take care… don’t get over enthusiastic…
I also indulge in soime serious oc’ing but I don’t get carried away… I may increase speed to 2.6 GHz for benchies but that is with loads temp max 45 deg C.
