That requires a sting. Shutdown can be avoided with a fine. Stretch that a little further and the eminently reasonable local politician will order his men to look the other way?
I’m not saying it’s absent but there is no traction in the south. The bulk of the reports are from the north.
And that is because there is no beef industry in the south. Why won’t you accept that
I can’t say whether there is or isn’t a divide. It seems to go back and forth.
Who’s to say it doesn’t happen?
It’s not like these animals are chipped and being tracked.
With the large numbers in this country who would notice.
Beef is consumed in almost all countries over the world except major regions of India. Heck, one of the biggest exporter of beef is Brazil, which actually took Indian cows to develop a very profitable industry.
A lot more can be found from books about the topic.
Why govt. have to define this ? It’s just to protect cows and nothing else. Slaughtering farmer’s own cows for his benefit is his interest, not govt.’s. Govt. can give guidelines but not make it a punishable offense.
You are commenting as if religion induced laws did not exist at all. Verghese Kurien of Amul, famous for India’s white revolution had enough tiff about this with religious kind and decided to leave the subject untouched.
Then such a govt. is not functioning properly. That is the very problem.
Of course, lawlessness when induced by identity politics will be worse.
(Note: The above is a composite verse often cited in discussions, as found in commentaries and scholarly discussions of Ch. 27, though exact numbering might vary in different editions).

According to the Charaka Samhita (Sutrasthana 27), the properties of beef are:

Key Contextual Notes
Medicine, Not Regular Diet: Charaka mentions these meats in the context of treating specific, severe ailments where strengthening the body is critical.
Dosha Impact: It is generally considered heavy and, in excessive or non-medicinal consumption, can cause issues, but in the stated, specific, severe diseases, it is recommended.
Meat Selection: The text specifies that meat from an animal that is emaciated, poisoned, or unnatural should not be used, and only healthy animals are to be used when prescribing.

No reliable proof because the study has not been done, and would need to observe the effect in the very same individual. And no one is serious in india to become subjects of researches and neither scholars are interested.
It is on you whether to trust or not. Lead was marketed safe for decades and used heavily, same goes with asbestos. And god bless you if you really want to live your life with clinical trial mindset. Keep waiting for it
I never said that, Few months ago, Mahesh Rekhe a teenager did dandakrama parayana of 2000 shlokas.
No body said here Intelligence depends on a single food source.
the debate is only of difference in effect of milk of different variety. Buffalo milk is mentioned to relieve insomnia. ANY milk would relieve imsomnia, the difference is only in the amount of their action. And for your kind observation, there are mentioned 8 types of milk in ayurved from different and their special properties. The special properties mentioned means they show that effect more than other types of milk. Goat’s milk is advised to TB patient in ayurved. That doesnt mean only goat milk helps in TB. And the reason it is hard to prove clinically because there would be a lot other variables in a patient of TB, No 2 patients are same and for quantifying the difference, It would take weeks to months in a same patient. SAME goes with properties in oil, mustard oil is hot in nature and coconut oil is cooling in nature. The difference is small but it is their between different types of same thing.
It is not someone’s belief. It is WRITTEN in ayurvedic texts, during the era when west believed the earth is flat and indians had already solved the distance inbetween the major planets from earth, and the inclination of earth with the precision of minutes.
IT can be measured, It can be tested, AND IT IS REPEATABLE EVERYTIME
Every observation written has already passed all rational processes, Scrunity happened more during those times than today. The rational processes used during those times are mentioned in NYAYA DARSHANA. I am a student of both modern research and ancient way of researches. And once you read the ancient logic system (TARK SHASHTRA) You will start get the real essence of a research and testification.
Are you saying if something was written in ayurvedic texts it was a fact? (since you are saying its not someone’s belief) If so then why hasn’t there been any evidence-based backing for these supposed “facts”? Why hasn’t ayurveda been fully integrated into modern medicine? I’m not saying we haven’t taken things from ayurvedic texts to help us advance modern medicine, I’m saying not everything written there is true as it cannot be verified thus left behind. Maybe in the future there will be a new research revealing more of what ayurvedic texts were actually accurate, until then they are not facts but beliefs.
I would go on and on with you with logical arguments but looking at others having tried their best
I know its a waste of effort from my side.
Personally, I do believe there is some ~unknown~ quantifier in cow milk vs buffalo milk vs camel milk but it is something I do not care enough about to investigate.
I mean, I don’t even like milk so that’s a hurdle right there.
The world is old and mysterious and I fully expect there’s a large chunk of awesome ancient knowledge permanently lost to mankind but I’m not going waste any portion of my already way too short life trying to figure out what or why.
Amla ( Indian gooseberry ) is mentioned to be the best anti-aging drug amongst all.
Now I was not amazed when monica carlsen et al paper in 2010 found this very same thing, amongst 3100 plant substances.
Amla topped the list with a very huge margin and that was the dried amla. As with drying anti-oxidants are destroyed. Even after drying it was unbeatable.
Now did you know about this earlier? Did anyone cared about to advertise this throughout the globe? Did people start eating amla in their diets through various forms?
They didn’t and they won’t, because fun fact is that AMLA is native to india, and something which the west doesn’t have won’t be promoted. They promoted apples to make you healthy because they had apples only. And apples are way behind amla in that paper.
The difference between cow and buffalo or even camel milk won’t come forward the way you expect because the west doesn’t have it. They have their jersey cows which they have developed themselves for cheese and are lactose intolerant for a reason.
The world’s changed in the last few years, whether you’re a fan of the BJP or not, India’s able to stand on its own not out of the stubbornness of old but with an air of authority.
Markets are catering to us whereas previously we’d literally beg to get access. Our population growth and density has made us simply undeniable.
To truly capitalize on our position, we need our leaders to let go of mythical texts, the obsession with gobar/susu and the persecution fetish they find comfort in concerning ancient conquerors — we need them to step into today’s world.
We can create actual standards, we can fund efficacy trials of herbal extracts, heck we can even propagate that endomorphism is an evolutionary trait — and the world will follow.
China can build, iterate, evolve, but they have no idea how to lead anybody, let alone lead the world. They’re best being cogs in a machine.
For leading, we have that capability, we have history of that capability.
The reason we must stick with the past and bring our roots back, is because we had the best education system, best medicine system, best way of living life. And it is still practical today. Western way of education needs economic stability and no poor people, because western education needs money, and for money we have to exploit the natural resources.
Antioxidants concentration increase drastically when a fruit is dried as all the excess water is removed
Why should the west promote Amla? It is not something native to their continent. They promote their berries because they want their population to be healthy and they publicize the benefits of the fruits that are native to their land just because that is what their people can get their hands on. If someone should promote Amla, it should be the Indian Govt or authorities if they care an ounce about the the general health and wellbeing of its citizens. Why do yo expect the west to do everything for us?
Antioxidants concentration increase but they are sensitive to heat.
The west doesn’t need to promote but our fellow Indians have directly engulfed all such knowledge from west. Practices from West get as it is adopted in india. An apple a day keeps doctor away, why this quote is known by every child in india? Even the nursery poems are as it is adopted from west, baba baba black sheep, humpty dumpty sat on a wall.
People naturally copy those who are on top. And if can never assume indian govt doing something. It is only in recent times changes are starting to appear.
Everyone knows and assumes spinach is the healthiest green food, but we have much more healthier green leafy foods - methi, bathua, cholai, ( not sarso, it is said to be the worst leafy vegetable ) again sarso is said to be the worst but who knows? People in punjab eat them all the time.
When it comes to food and their effects on Indian body, everything have been described in our ayurvedic texts which was written solely for them, but thanks to old government which didn’t add that knowledge in our textbooks.
Even the qualities of different types of meat and their effects on body is mentioned. Also, potato and cauliflower something which indians eat mostly during winter is not even there in ayurveda, clearly indicating they are not indian and doesn’t suit us.
And all those things related to food must be and should have been known to every indian and we live on that and we necessarily don’t need to live by what the west advices us.
Our bodies are different from them and so is our food.
That is why I am promoting it here and taking my effort. If anybody wants to know more about our food, he can read and chapter 5 and chapter 6 from ashtang Hridaya ‘sutrasthan’. It was compiled in 10th century and written entirely in a poetic manner, every shloka is in this particular chhand which can only have a fixed number of characters. If someone took the effort to compose 7500 Sanskrit shloka into a poem, he was in no mood to add something which had even 1% of a chance to question on it.
