RAM prices have already shot up 4x in the past months. With this kind of spike, how high do you guys think GPU prices will go next? Could we be in for another crazy market surge?
I bought my Sapphire Pulse RX9060XT 16GB for 38k in July, 2025 and now its going up and up…
Just like in Crypto era…
I bought my T-Create Expert 32GB(16GBx2) 6000Mhz CL30 kit for 9.5k in March, 2025 and now it too is going up and up…
The hoarding by repair shops and corporations for reasonably priced spares are also driving up the price of RAM.
But I don’t see such an exponential effect on GPUs in the whole.
Surely they will go up in price once the existing supply dries up.
This has started affecting ssd’s too now. I am considering myself lucky now even though I bought my storage at the initial inflated prices previous month which have almost gone up by 50-60% now.
Expect RAM prices to go up. Since many DRAM manufacturers have stopped making for consumers. On the other side, Asus and many Chinese companies are jumping in DRAM, so coming year we might see prices settling in, if not decreasing.
Asus has denied making ram.
Oh Damn. I didn’t know. Wish it would’ve been true.
Its already happening. GPU prices shot up earlier this week. 9060XT, 9070XT, and 5070 Ti, as well as many 5080s, are all 10% or more above their lowest prices. This is it folks, it’s real, its happening. Right or wrong reasons wont matter in the end. This might not also be the end of the hike. The higher end cards have seen bigger jump than lower end.
How do I buy from microcenter usa ? No shipping:(
Prices for RTX 5000 series Nvidia Founder’s Edition cards have been raised today on STPL:
RTX 5090: Rs. 219000 → 227000 (~3.6% increase)
RTX 5080: Rs. 110000 → 114000 (~3.6% increase)
RTX 5070: Rs. 60000 → 63000 (5% increase)
RTX 5070 has seen the steepest increase.
I think this is due to USD-INR exchange rates. Could be wrong, but my assumption is based on the fact that NVIDIA didn’t raise prices in the US.
RTX 5070 Ti is effectively EOL. Bad days coming ahead for the GPU market, we might see 8GB cards getting mainstream again.
Leverage your Alumni groups and neighborhood US wallah cousin or friend to get it duty free.
Same affliction is spreading to the used market GPU markups. But it’s not too late to pick up that upgrade.
Before anyone takes this too seriously, it’s not real, it’s AI.
