Season 3.
You can watch based on the order of release or else you can refer to this post for clarity -[“What Order Should I Watch Twin Peaks?”–The Definitive Answer](’
I am watching this for the first time only..
Season 1 was slow in the middle but good. Gave up on season 2 as it felt too boring sometimes and just watched recap as per reddit reviews.
Next watched Fire Walk with Me movie and then watched deleted scenes from it.
Now planning to watch season 3.
Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning. 1/5.
Greatest Action Franchise Saves the Worst for Last.
Worthless Villian - Series low
Choppy Editing.
Lack of action scenes and 2 major action set piece last way longer and doesn’t have any impact.
Humour is missing.
Past Lives
Personal Rating - 8/10
I personally like movies that are emotional, raw, kinda sad and make me reflect. It has this sort of beautiful melancholy of the movie, seeing a small part of what life may have been like, and accepting how life is right now, not just romantically.
Anora
Personal Rating - 7.5/10
I didn’t like the first half that much but the second act of the movie was sad and I couldn’t help but root for Anora and wish things somehow turned for her after had happened.
Next up: Lost in Translation. Open to suggestions, similar to Past Lives (any language is fine for me)
Star Wars : Rogue One
Finished rewatching after Andor ended (I had to). I am able to appreciate even more now, just how well they scripted this and Andor as prequels to the OG Star Wars saga. Darker with Chirrut and K2SO as standouts, its an easy 8/10.
Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning
Enjoyed it only as a bitter sweet send-off to a certain Mr. Cruise. Sweet for all the nods to the previous movies in the franchise including a memorable tie-in with the first. Bitter as we are unlikely to see him again (he turns 63 and the first one was at 33!!) and that, as a movie, it is a let down compared to its predecessors. 7/10 from me.
Here are some titles that I can recall off the top of my head. They are not exactly similar to past lives but may trigger similar emotions. I am a sucker for coming-of-age, bittersweet dramas and most of these movies are along those lines. I cant recall many others but will recommend more as I remember.
The perks of being a wallflower
The spectacular now
Leave no trace
The holdovers
The kings of summer
Boyhood
Captain fantastic
Perfect days
Watched it in IMAX but not an IMAX worth movie. The story is emotionless and too little action but those action scenes when they come are done perfectly. Tom Cruise is 63yrs and he still looks young. The story is highly predictable and the pacing makes you exhausted for nearly 3 hours movie. Overall personally for me not as good as Rouge nation or Fallout.
“First, take a big step back… and literally, FUCK YOUR OWN FACE! I don’t know what kind of pan-pacific bullshit power play you’re trying to pull here, but Asia Jack is my territory. So whatever you’re thinking, you’d better think again! Otherwise, I’m gonna have to head down there, and I will rain down an ungodly fucking firestorm upon you! You’re gonna have to call the fucking United Nations and get a fucking binding resolution to keep me from fucking destroying you. I’m talking scorched earth, motherfucker! I will massacre you! I WILL FUCK YOU UP!”
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025): 7/10
God damn… I think I muttered “That’s impossible” at least a few times when watching this, LoL! Even though the antagonist just didn’t feel strong enough but I didn’t get bored for a second.
The best part for me in the movie was…
Inside the wreckage of the sunken Sevastopol. That was almost out of a horror flick when Ethan saw those dead bodies inside!
[HEADING=2]Anora: 7/10[/HEADING]
Boring initially, but second half was much better, okayish movie. Felt sad for “Anora” character.
Good acting from almost everyone.
Definitely not an “oscar” level movie, but since few years oscars have turned ridiculous anyway.
