Returning to this familiar forum for help after years! I don’t live in the country and am trying to help a friend who is visiting home for a few days, to buy a high end refrigerator for their new home.
Budget - unsure, but it sounds like they can spend up to 2 lac INR.
They have narrowed down on the [Samsung 657L Spacemax Family Hub](’
). Is this a good choice? Are there better options? Double-door multi-compartment is highly preferred. Least inconvenience. This is for elderly parents.
I remember LG being a more “reliable” brand compared to Samsung. Is that still the case?

I don’t think that is still the case anymore as I have seen many buying Samsung refrigerator these days too and happy with it.
But you are right LG used to be more reliable but that was almost a decade back case.
How many members are there in the family? Do they actually need a big fridge?
You mentioned it is for elderly parents and you need least inconvenience well more features like ice maker/Ai assistant/displays will inevitably cause more failure points. Basically, Keep it simple.
Try to buy an older model of LG. The new models LG have serious quality control issues due to cost cutting
I had my fridge replaced twice due to noise issues from the compressor. This was a convertible model and made in India.
Afterback and forth returned and bought a older non convertible model made in Indonesia and it works well
Yes there was a bit of communication required but it wasn’t anywhere near to a struggle.
I am satisfied by the quick response by the dealer. I did not buy it from LG directly.
