Just made this post to share my RMA experience with a defective MSI monitor on arrival.
First I learnt that the warranty the sellers advertise (7 day type) is just the normal RMA we as customers have to deal with too, its just that the seller does this work for us. Which in my case they refused to do it.
Second, Computech (from my guess some other sellers too) draw this weird line where they refuse to do this RMA work for the customer, in my case of a vertical line which Computech claimed is a panel damage and would be taken care by MSI itself and they would not enterntain the replacement/return policy on their end. Computech said they would have only considered the replacement-return themselves if the whole panel was dead instead which was not in my case.
After arguing with the seller Computech for 2 days , I finally made a RMA service request on the MSI website since I was worried the DOA time limit might expire and I would have no chance for a brand new piece replacement at all.
I also feared if MSI might consider it shipping damage (though there was no visible damage, i feared cases of transportation shocks and pressure) or if they serviced my request they would not give me brand new replacement if RMA’d with them.
After making the RMA service request, MSI booked a pickup with bluekart, I sent the monitor after packing it myself( believe me wrapping that bubble wrap around the box 15 times was hard [I packed exactly how I got it from Computech, they did a good job there]. Fortunately MSI approved the DOA claim after inspecting it and arranged to give me brand new replacement, I pretty much did not have to do any arguing with them, just filled their RMA request, they would reply the doubts asked on their ticket or email in a day. They assured me if within DOA time limit they provide a brand-new replacement, sometimes in other replies citing, “according to MSI DOA policy” which I could not find anywhere and after asking gemini I realised the policy is between the distributers and MSI and they like to keep it ambigous for end consumer, since its not exactly it their interest to share it on website. Only after you get into specific problems you get to know resolution the company will provide for you in individual cases.
Even though I got the brand-new replacement from MSI, I felt that the process is still a bit hectic and wastes quite a few days (like a month, one has to learn how to approach such problems where to contract to get the best resolution and then waiting for the company to issue the request and then waiting for the delivery ) for which there is no compensation whatsoever. Apparently thats the situation with the customer experience here in India.
I am not writing this to deter or recommend people from ordering from Computech or MSI. Just sharing this if anyone in future need some reference if they find themselves in such a Situation.
Computech is least customer centric, they cancelled my NVMe SSD order citing product being out of stock, this was in early November or so. This by itself is perfectly alright, they promised refund as well, so I wasn’t bothered. Even after a week no refund, so I contacted them to share the refund reference number so that I can check with the bank, they shared some report which clearly shows refund is not even initiated. After that no response whatsoever, completely ghosted me.
I ended up disputing the transaction with the card issuer (SBI in my case, which was another ordeal but for some other time), got a temporary credit and finally early this week got the permanent credit, so around 4 months. I just hope my dispute inconvenienced them at least a bit, considering the payment gateway would levy a dispute handling fee from them.
My experience with Computech has been pretty alright, but I bought the item from their offline store so that’s something. I repeatedly keep hearing bad things about them online (shipping delay, etc.) however.
A lot of these sellers (from my experience; Computech and Variety Infotech) don’t update status of the stock on their website. It has happened multiple times that I’ve gone to the stores just because I saw something was available on the website and they tell me it’s not available and I’ll have to come again 2 days later.
You are mistaken that small companies do not provide a good and responsible after sales support. The seller in this case has displayed plain inaccountability.
Problem with computech is customer service. He once shipped me a 2 yr old Logitech keyboard with completely torn / destroyed box ! Thankfully the keyboard was fine. If you are selling clearance stock you should mention the condition such as “torn box”. If something is being sold at market price and mentioned as brand new it should be in a presentable condition.
Comutech isn’t a scam as such but they are not transparent and definitely not customer focused. Paisa safe hai but don’t expect them to help when needed
Don’t consider computech a company itself. It is a store in Maharashtra and now online.
Do you expect any offline store to give you a replacement themselves if your monitor shows a line? Their customer service is like an offline store itself I agree
Yes…definitely… i ain’t going to take an already faulty product home from a shop and then go through the ordeal of rma and replacement from the brand..
Also if seller can’t honour the replacement/refund then they shouldn’t mention it in their policy on website
yeah i read a post on reddit about a guy who had his monitor more damaged by msi which msi claimed was by from the customer himself hence refusing the rma request, for which he had some proof too, fortunately he , after contacting some guys like Ashish on fb (some manager at Acro for gamers) got his rma done properly
Why not hold computech accountable? They are borderline scammers. Their business should be closed. I would have definitely beat the guy up if he talked to me in person like how he did on the phone. Maybe someday I’ll visit and sort it out. He or the guy who is on the phone scammed me and then had the audacity to argue with me
idk except a few big sellers . all others are basicially resellers who just everytime a order is placed or a query is asked they will quote whatever price. then will probably go to importer get the current rates and then update price or stock. due to their shady lower prices people go to them and then when anything goes wrong and no support is provided from these guys. they just want their margins and others can just walk.
