Post fup speed is now 1Mbps instead of 512Kbps. They have also increased fup limit from 8gb to 10gb for plans that were costing around rs. 900+tax. Useful in smaller towns where BSNL is the only choice.

Where to see all latest plans?

BSNL unveils unlimited wireline broadband combo plan at Rs 249 (Valid for six months from Sept 9)
2 Mbps till 1GB. 1Mbps thereafter.

Then maybe shift to- BSNL’s 2Mbps combo plan - for Rs. 499/-
2 Mbps till 2GB. 1 Mbps Post FUP.

The limit on the above plans is pretty pathetic.

BSNL, looks good only in documents as the staffs are not tech savvy & still act juts a telephone lineman.

Now this is going to step up the competition in the wireline broadband field as most ISPs still have 512kbps speeds after FUP.

I don’t get. How is this better than the Rs. 249 plan which is also 2mbps?

For the rs. 950 difference, who’s gonna sit at home calling from a landline for ‘24 hours’ ?

Or am i missing something here?

*Bandwidth (Download Speed) Upto 2 Mbps till 1 GB, Upto 1 Mbps beyond *

The stupid economic times news article never mentioned about any FUP limit in their article.
I came across an ndtv news piece, and that clarified matters. Have already made updates in the earlier post.

Potential Jio customers who couldn’t get the SIM with free voice :face_with_tongue:

Wtf don’t they just call them 1mbps unltd plans then? Friggin 2mbps for 1gb. Typically bsnl.

And their whole “if subscribers use about 300GB of data in a month, they are effectively paying less than Rs. 1 per GB of high-speed data”.

Can you really download 300gb in a month on 1mbps? Well ok, 299gb.

^ And I doubt those shitty bsnl router can even handle downloading 299gb continously without rebooting

most of my folks on bsnl are using 3rd party ones like tplink, work decent enough. but yeah, ven the jio jolt wasn’t enough to wake bsnl up i think. they’re only surviving because of no other options in remote places and villages. but once jio’s unbelievably extensive network plans are complete, i think that will change too…

BSNL to match Jio in tariff.
