Strange behavour of rank tags

well, I just posted something in general hw section about 10k laptops.
So when I used the rank tags, it asked me to enter the option (website name) and I did, only instead of www.economictimes.com
I copy pasted

http://economictimes.com

(my mistake)
(it appeared as [RANK="

http://…"]

ie the address appeared in quotes.
And when I clicked on it I went to microsoft.com!!
WTH?

is an example.

I mean it appears to be associating the URL

http://http/

with MS
(FF shows first going to google, then microsoft.com)

yep…
thats what it is..
when you wanna put in rank you have to strip the http:// part of it and then enter site

eg:

so just omit the http part of the link and it will work

and http://http/ points to no address so its googled and from there redirected to ms.. don’t ask me why :face_with_tongue:

Thats how FF works… It was mentioned earlier in Chip/Digit also… The browser directs you to the M$ website…

Yeah, and for some sites, it just doesn’t work!
Don’t have a live example right now, but there was one in one of my threads!
Will report here when I find another!
