No no, price drop will happen 1-2 months earlier. Why? They want to clear stocks na before New series hits market.

I can’t able to decide whether I should go for 6870 or 5770 as I am not hardcore gamer…
I play NFS Series, Fifa, COD…(COD Modern warfare running fine on integrated graphics)
go for 6870
or asus 5870-12.4k
Go for 6850… 6850 VFM card and a lot cooler and easy on power consumption…

Else try to find a Sapphire locally. Should cost ~9.5k. If you a moderate gamer then HD 6850 should do fine.
If price drops occurs within 1-2 months what would be the price of 6850 & 6790
Well, if you only play these games I see no reason not to wait. But I would suggest this:
- Grab an old HD4770/9800GT/HD4850/HD5770/HD5670 level card(2nd hand) at the lowest price and enjoy gaming next 4-5 months, then when the new series comes, you can upgrade again.

^^ Buddy get MSI 6850 PE ! Its very much capable of gaming @ HD resolution.
Mind one thing never indulge into wait. There is insane race going one these days between AMD and Nvidia.
Wait for 7XXX series or get 6870 twin frozr at 9.5K listed here on TE 
wait for the next best thing and then wait some more for the next best thing

msi 6870 twin frozr would be the best choice,if you can wait then wait till next month end.
In PC gaming don’t think more on upgrade if u want to buy just buy and play u got well suggestions by all my g8 frnds …i have hd 6870 i m playing games now with it and i m happy to have such this g8 gpu
IMHO a HD6870 is more than enough for descent gaming experience. So, go for it.
Prime ABGB in Mumbai is selling the Sapphire HD 6870 for 11k. Since the 6850 is 9.5k, I think it makes sense to spend 1.5k more and get the 6870 instead.
