when lonavala meets mahabaleshwar
(strawberry-chikki combo as breakfast, recipe-credit chef aditya bal. this idea was shared by him in one of the episodes of his show ‘chakh le india’ long back when he had travelled to saputara hill-station of gujarat from mumbai and just after crossing over into the region at the border he saw sellers selling strawberries there. some may not like it, but i like the combo of sour-sweet tastes. the sour & soft strawberries with the sweet & crunchy peanut chikki tastes very good. my suggestion to try - use the dry light-coloured less sweet peanut chikki instead of the dark caramel-coloured sticky one which is more sweet; or use rajgira dry fruit chikki which can taste even better with the strawberry slices.)

wines made from the fruits of mahabaleshwar (supposedly, hopefully  )
(mulberry, strawberry, mango, pineapple. i am not a ‘wine connoisseur’; i dont like wines usually & i didnt like the strawberry wine i had from the place some years back. but these felt nice to me. tasted the mulberry one with my neighbour, neither of us being wine enthusiasts, but both of us took an instant liking to it! yet to taste the others. 375~500ml bottles each, cost me a total of 16xx/-. brands, ‘[rhythm wines](’

I’ve recently caught the specialty coffee bug, although I am still getting pre-ground coffee at the moment, I wanted to get a cheap ceramic burr grinder but everywhere I look, people are recommending to save up and get at least a Timemore C2, which has stainless steel burr so I am interested to know is your grinder holding up?

Google link pls… Can’t find it… Showing only Singapore link

this is right and wrong at the same time  weatsmile:

Get the c2 or newer c3. Mine does not produce consistent grind. This results in channeling. I am going to get the C3 for its S2C burr inside. As these are lifetime buys, get the best you can buy.

The food looks delectable!
How do you get access to the IRCTC lounge? Is it in every major station?

In every major railway stations you’ll find irctc lounges. You need a CC of dreamfolks group of cards (idfc first, icici coral, makemytrip, etc )or irctc co branded credit cards (SBI IRCTC, HDFC IRCTC) etc..

These are from a Ladakh trip last year at a place called Namza Dining in Leh. Everything is vegetarian, although a lot of these dishes traditionally have meat in them.

Kothay Mokmok

This was something with Tingmo. I don’t remember the name of the dish.

Gyathuk

Yarkhandi Pulao - Man, this was to die for. The best thing I’ve had during the trip. I had it at another place too and although it was different, it tasted amazing as well.

Khambir and Tangthur?

Finally tried the Jowar noodles everyone keeps talking about on IG…

Pretty good, I like the texture as it’s a bit like Pasta and not mushy. Added some Garlic Butter Tossed Veggies and Paneer :sparkles:
