Nero Burning ROM.
Nero f’ing Burning ROM!!
This is the story of my personal embarrassment on a national level.
Like most, I grew up with this software.
The initial versions had an icon which depicted a white dude with bad hair playing what looked like a harp, and there was some fire in the background.
Nice icon.
I knew this software came with some beautiful icon sets; that’s why I always kept it around even when my PC didn’t have a writer anymore.
What else did I know?
I knew the original f’ing story.
But… but I never connected these two.
How the f’ could I not? It was right in front of me this whole time.
And then after a decade, this joke hit me like a train.
It was literally too “ahead” of its time. I was like, f’ me sideways.
Germans have a crooked sense of humor, and I like it.

I have no memory of this.
But yeah, I learned about the roman emperor nero burning down rome about ten years after I stopped using it, felt stupid for a while.
It was a myth though

As a history buff, I felt a lot more stupid. I knew the story from the start.
But like the name of its maker, the joke was too Ahead of its time.

Is it that costly in HYD? Back in 2012 I was having an awesome time in HYD. Damn I miss that place.
