I get a doubt in mind when i see these gaming lappies. why dont the lappies with a good GFX card never match their correspondind sibling on the desktops.not even 50% of the performance too i suppose. like 9800M cannot match 9800(desktop version).
^^ I guess mobile GPUs are numbered differently, that’s all.

1.)no overheating issues noticed. According to me, this one has very well placed vents, plus i have assigned a direct kb shortcut for fan speed(its provided in sony drivers), so i set the fan to “performance mode” when gaming, and this baby stays cool
2.)runs not-so-demanding games quite well i must say. Played portal2 at 1600*900, 2xmsAA and some settings high, some medium, and the game runs like maska.
Mafia 2, though give just around 23fps.
3.)no problem faced yet, but i would’ve appreciated a little metal on the laptop body…its all plastic now, but its strong plastic nonetheless.

No i dint go to a sony exclusive dealer.I am in Mumbai…so went to a lamington rd. shop which deals mainly in laptops and ordered..because you have a better chance of bargaining there.
Btw the dealers get the laptop for around 52.7k so whatever extra u pay is their profit.

I too got got it off Chandni Chowk, Kolkata @ 52.9k. Had to show them Flipkart price & bargain twice. Sony Center quoted a fixed price of INR 54990.
What memory module would be compatible with the installed 4 GB memory ? Can I pick it out online somewhere ?
Any module should work but check the timings first. My laptop came with a Samsung module installed.
CB15 owners - how to do a clean install of Win7?
Hello CB series owner, i just puchased this master peice on 17th July from jumbo Electronics. I m truely enjoying the glossy black color body, backlit keyboard are real blessing for my kind of user 
Though i very new to Win7. Can somebody here (expert) can advise me 2 things-
1-How to add additional drives, i mean my C: drive as of now has 410 GB of space, i want to add atleast 2 drive or more (as D: & E:) can you help a bit in prcoces.
2- I m constantaly getting notification for -Windows Update are ready to install"- do you suggest to install and update windows everyday or everytime when i get this message ? last i rememver i got 3 important updates available to install message while installing it didn;t installed , throwed some error.. i couldn’t feel like investigating this as this not hampering my work either way.
Suggestions/modifications are deeply welcomed.

Just download Genuine Win7 HP 64-bit from Microsoft for free. Google for Win7 Digital River. Its 100% legal if you use the product key that came with your laptop.
Burn a bootable disk using vLite. Clean format using it.
Install all drivers from here, except VAIO Gate, Location Utility & Quick Web Access if you don’t need them.
Right-click Computer. Select Manage. From left panel, select Disk Management. Right click the C: drive in the right & select Shrink Volume. Shrink it to your preferred size. Then create new volumes from the free space you created.
How are the vertical viewing angles on this ? I got a xps 15z which I had to return due to some damage, and its out of stock till mid august. Other option is regular xps 15. interested in something that has a FHD display and half decent viewing angles

what about updates? is it recommended to install those updates? i havent felt any great use of that.
I have got MS Security essential Anti Virus free subsrciption for 3 years thinking whether its good enough to secure my daily downloads from diff web site or should i move to McFe or Norton.. any advise guys.
