Here are the details of Version 2.0:
^So, basically, they are doing an enhanced edition of Witcher 2 just like they did for the first one.
Now, I may sound fanboyish, but, these guys seem like they take real pride in their work. Hence, they are looking to improve upon any shortcoming pointed out in their work. This is a very good attitude to have.
Meanwhile its 40% off @ $29.99 (~ Rs.1400) at GOG.com as part of their Celebration of Gamescom discount sale.

So can I go for it, What you say guys?
Itās certainly less than the retail price in India which is Rs 1499.
Completed Chapter 1 and decided to stick to Zoltan and save Iorveth. Had to battle too many guards before Iorveth could be rescued. But before that I thought Iād attempt that drunken-troll-at-the-broken-bride side quest and approached it. But seems like I cannot progress in an alternate path and had to give up! So this side quest needs to be attempted before battling Letho.
Since Zoltan is at the Elven forests and Sile is not present in her room, none of Geraltās other acquaintances could give any info regarding the she-trollās death whom the troll spoke about. Poor thing! Wanted to help the creature.
Chapter 2 progression has been steady by far since the last couple of days. Few queries regarding alternate decisions made:
1. Geralt chose to say that the Prince Stennis is guilty and that he aided in poisoning the wine given to Saskia. And due to this, he got tied up and the peasants finished him. Geralt collected his blood. What was the other alternative possible here?
- Found the troll looking for the she-troll who had Trissā bandana. Helped both of them and recovered the bandana. What was the other alternative here?
The gameās script is just fantastic! And the story gets interesting as it progresses.
Go for it man. Its a decision that you wonāt regret.
But if you can find a retail version, you should go for it because the game files are about 16gb.
Actually, if you paid close attention to all the little houses in the elven village, then you can still complete this quest. Read this if you dont care about the spoilers:
There is a leather merchant in the little village. In his house, you can see the she-trolls head hung up on the wall :(. When you ask him about it, he will play dice with you and if you win, I think he will give you the head which you can take back to the troll.
This is actually a really interesting twist. If you dont want to play it, read on:
If you say, Stennis is innocent, then the mob will spare him. But, you still need some Royal Blood and there is only one other Royal person around. Yup, Henselt! So, with Phillipaās help you have to go to the Kaedweni camp and get some Royal Blood.
I dont think there was any alternative here. If you are friendly to them, then they show up to help you in the final decisive battle between Vergen and Kaedwen. Otherwise, you can kill them, but no help. Someone, please correct me if I am wrong on this.
^Hey thanks for that prett!
Concluded Chapter 2 yesterday. It was a fantastic ride alright and loved this one over Chapter 1. Esp. the historic battle and ending the curse part.
WTF happened to Saskia! And Philipa seemed to knew it beforehand!
And hey, the trolls who helped me with Trissā bandana offered a help in return.
Turns out they were present at the battle against King Henselt and the Kaedweni army but not shown however.
Is the game progressing a bit faster? I mean thereās just one Chapter left and the Epilogue which concludes the game. Pretty small for an RPG game? Or is that the other options (such as siding with Roche or Iorveth) gives us a whole new Chapter 2 on a completely different location?
In Chapter 3 at Loc Muinne, there seem to be some chests present underground which have some signs around. They need to be extinguished in some particular order and whatever slip of paper is present around that chest mentioning something (clue?), I donāt seem to get it right. Are there further clues to be obtained to open this chest or am I missing something here?
Geralt has become a lot stronger now. Leveled up till 27. Swordsmanship branch completed with 2 powers leveled up till 2 and mutated.
Yea, chapter 3 is very short and will probably leave most people underwhelmed and wanting for more. Also, if you had sided with Roche at the end on Chapter 1, you would be at the Kadwaeni camp in chapter 2. So, yea, they have two different chapter 2s.
Completed the game. It was an awesome experience but Iād rate Mass Effect 2 well above this one. Chapter 3 was terribly short with barely any side quests.
Geralt was on Level 34 when the game concluded. The save files are safe.
Just curious but what happened to Iorveth, Roche and Zoltan? They never showed anything w.r.t these characters.
I happened to save Triss so the two walk out as the credits sequence rolls.
Regarding Sile,
I chose not to remove the flawed diamond from the megascope and battled the dragon. What was the other alternative? Not to fight the dragon?
And finally with Letho, it appears there wasnāt much change if we chose to have the final showdown with him or leave him. Geralt simply walks away.
Anyhow, I think Iām gradually getting addicted to this genre as I keep playing them. It was the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series first, then came Borderlands, Mass Effect 1 & 2, then recently Deathspank and now Witcher 2. How good is Dragon Age 2? Should I be playing the first title or is the sequel not linked to the storyline from the first?
About how long is this game?
I suppose I did not clock beyond 25 hours with this one. Began last Monday afternoon and concluded the game yesterday. Ofc if you decide to give the second chapter a plathrough once more with a different choice, it will be longer. 35 hours tops?
I wanna start playing RPGās too. Iāve never been a fan of em and I get bored way too early. Mass Effect is an exception because of itās FPS factor.
Witcher will challenge you differently - combat is majorly close quarters and slightly difficult than most other games. Lot of fun though and combat does require some getting used to
Viralbug, Iād suggest you to give both 1 and 2 a go. The first game aināt great graphically whereas the 2nd is magnificent and beautiful! And of course, taxing on the PC

^Very very taxing if I may add. I could however play it on High after turning off the āUber Samplingā setting. Combat is difficult - agreed and not the usual hack-en-slash types but the āEasyā mode does the trick for beginners. But I reckon completing the game on the āNormalā mode is much more rewarding and satisfying towards the completion. Fun factor - like Iāve mentioned before, the RPG genre takes the cake here!
Dragon Age: Origins is a really good rpg and more true to the genre than the games youāve listed. The gfx will look dated now that youāve played Witcher 2 though but the tactics and gameplay options in combat make it way more engaging imo. Iāve not played DA:2 but the reviews and gameplay videos make it look awful. My fav rpg till now(though Iāve not played many either) is Planescape Torment.
