Nothing really new came from MS since Windows 95, ok windows 2000 brought the NT series to home users, but even then, nothin new …

So in the end maybe those users who don’t care much for new and powerful features will stick with whatever they use, and the adventurous will venture away from the windows world. Hopefully so, anyway.

But MS is not one to just stand around, they may see to it that new applications don’t run on anything older than longhorn, and users will have to upgrade.

well i have to agree…we need something completely fresh…
then again did u realize how long it took M$ to get one stable OS in XP.
writing frm scratch will mean less stabe and less reliable OS once again
which will take time to reach the standards and then surpass it.

Of course not, we’ll have to move on sometime to future OS, I guess! But by that time we might have Desktop Linux more mature! Also, maybe some other alternatives may come up in the future!

Well i dont knw…but i dnt think thts gonna happens soon…until ofcourse they get sme serious competition…nd who knws if longhorn mite not even release in late 2006…
