Ubisoft has become the first major publisher to announce its complete lineup for next month’s E3 exhibition in LA. The return of the Prince, the return of the King but this time with an ape and the obligatory Tom Clancy title are some of the highlights. The big news however, is that two of the company’s titles will be demonstrated on next-gen consoles.
As we have come to expect, this year’s E3 will be dominated by the new consoles and a variety of sneak peeks and previews which will, no doubt, be conspicuously abundant. Ubisoft could not miss out on such an opportunity and plans to demonstrate Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon 3 and Peter Jackson’s King Kong on the next-generation platform, although the company did not specify its console of choice.
As a big developer, Ubisoft already has a few titles well in development for the next-gen consoles but two of the better known next-generation games, Splinter Cell 4 and the shooter Killing Day, will not be mentioned at all at this year’s E3.
I think that in keeping with tradition, all versions will be released at the same time. Both POP games were developed for the consoles first and then ported over to the PC.
