hmm…as the title suggests, i have 6K, wanna blow it off ASAP.
Here are a few points i wanna make out :
No mobo+cpu : Am happy with my 2500+ and A7N8X E Dlx.
No gfx card : very very ha[[y with my 9600Pro
No Cooling : aint happy with my CM Aero, but still got something special
No HDDs : have 240GB already
No DVD Writers : Have a Pioneer DVR-108D
No monitors ; Have a 19" flat one already.
No speakers : ATP3!!! w00t!!!
No soundcards : Soundstorm rockssssss
what do i do??? if i keep the money, i’ll start dreaming of things i can buy, but its out of my grasp…wanted a good A64 solution, but, why??? Athlon XP 3200+ is good enough for me…
hehehe…the only thing i am thinking of is RAMs…have a Transcend 512MB with me, but wanna get something much better. Can sell it for 3K here…
so…9K for the RAMs…suggestions for some good RAM please. 1GB dual channel kit preferred (and, suggest me someone who can bring it to me )
There is this ONE hardware store in Mumbai - I would luv to take you there just to see your tongue hit the floor. That is if you are a tool freak like me. This shop has so much hardware that whenever I go there I always buy something I did not know I needed - even some hardware I will never use.

if you dont know anyone in US then your best option will be to get your hands on Original Hynix D43 chips.
I just got 2GB yesterday as some of my friends wanted original Hynix which is hard to find and the person i knew has just 2GB left. So i picked them up. Rs. 5600 for 1GB(2x512) original D43. Man it overclocks to 250Mhz without any problems which transcend cant so.
Dosent even get luke warm. My geil gets preety hot.

the fake ones cost bout 2k nd the original cost bout 2.6…
and yup they do more than 250mhz…almost all the time.. .
Yep I know. The one you get for 2.6K are unmarked D43. They can be fake. And also no official warranty on them.
The pricing is as follows for hynix(512MB CHIP).
Duplicate D43: 2-2.2K
Unmarked D43: 2.5-2.6K.
Marked 100% genuine Hynix D43 : 2.75-2.85K.
The one which i got are 100% genuine marked Hynix D43. And yes they usually do 280 without any trouble if you have voltage to provide.
You get what you pay for.
I bought them only after testing them to make sure these are original Hynix and not fake. the guy i knew allowed me to test before i pay him as he was 100% confident theatthese were original. So spending Rs.200 more is totally justified if you ask me. He wont cheat on me, he is my old friend. Used to work under me once
Has agreed to replace them anytime under warranty.
Heh, actiually he can upgrade his whole system this way
Actiually there is no point in upgrading anything else at the moment.
If you invest in AGP card then you will face problems upgrading your Processer and mobo later.
If you get A64 and AGP board now then the same problem again.
It will be better if you save more and upgrade the CPU,GPU and mobo all together.
But for that you will need a lot more than 6K.
The next logical thing is upgrade RAM for now and save again for other stuff.
By the way rocky, about marked and unmarked chips.
There are two types of unmarked chips.
One without Hynix logo on the memory chips
One without the Hynix marking on the stick.
Both of them can be original or fake. These are mostly OEM chips ment to be sold to machine builders but you know how stuff works in India
The marked chips will have Hynix marking on chip as well as a sticker and marking on the memory stick.
Also the marking on the chip will be fine and perfectly readable. this is not the case with the duplicate stuff.
Some suggestions (If you really want to blow your money) …
Convert all your software to licensed pro versions
Donate it to the “Save the Start Button” project.
Bet on the Celeron vs. the Opteron performance comparision bet. Place your money on the celeron.
Enter the RIAA office, shout “I admit it, I did it!”, give the money to the astonished receptionist and exit.
Use the money to courier your pet leopards to the digit office. Claim that their damaged DVD’s shot out of your drive, and injured the leopards. Demand compensation.
Try to get a patent for “Windows XP with custom boot screen”.
Give it to me… I took trouble to write this up, and I am saving up for an Opteron
(and, suggest me someone who can bring it to me
