Wat was wrong wid ma Writer?

Yo,

Yest, when i turned on ma PC,

(P4 1.8 GHz,256mb Ram,20GB hdd,CD-R/RW,DVD-ROM, OS=Win2k)

It got stuck on da startup,da place where da progress bar is shown.

Usually, in da normal boot process, da time taken fer da comp ta start is abt 1min.

Dis time, it got stuck der fer abt 2 mins.

Den, wen da comp started, mah writer wasnt recognised,

den, i tried ta reinstall da drivers,no use. da drive was nt compatible wid da drivers i had!!!

Weird stuff was happenin’. So, i tried restartin’. Pressed Del, checked fer da drive in bios,

and wat does it show?

Instead of Samsung, it dispayed somethin’ like “S[MS;Nz”

So, Any1 here have an idea on wat da problem was?

what say you remove the drive and restart?
Does that work.
If not then i would say you do a virus scan ton the comp also.
If that doesn’t work too you may havta flash the firmware of the drive provided its the culprit.(However keep this the last option)

Yo,
Removed da drive,
ran virus scan,
ran spyware scan(adaware,spybot,hijack this,ms antispyware beta),
tried ta flash…but as da writer isnt recognised as original format…its not possible…

wanna check if any1 else can answer dat.

well, i think its more or less ur ata cable fault, u swapped the cable with some other one and voilla :wink:
