@ TE Members: This post was a Genuine Effort to get you guys some good prices on this drive. Some of you had shown interests in the Caviar Black drives so I thought you might be interested. I hope you don’t beleive that TechShop would try to rip off (BEWARE as implied by supra) well-informed TE members. That would be foolish in any case. 
@ rahulmig: Thanks for your reply, yes I believe that must be the case, currently even NO WD distributor can offer even near the eBay price. 
@ Supra: It is disappointing that a well-reputed TE member such as yourself would post your reply in this manner. Not only does your post reveal a certain degree of short-sightedness, it is also downright rude and insulting.
@ Mods: Posts such as these are exactly the reason why we dealers sometimes feel its not worth being on TE. I hope you take some serious action.
PS: This link is for the 1.5TB seagate by the SAME EBAY SELLER that supra points to above. The price for the drive is Rs. 395/- higher than on this GO!!! I wonder if people should “BEWARE” of him too.

The caviar Black 1TB is still available for 6.5k in bangalore ( source Ankit Infotech). As of the 1.5TB in ebay…he has to pay 6-7% ebay charges of arnd 7.2~7.3k purchase price ( which comes to around 400-450)…hence his price is 395 more than TechShop.
And ya if you can get a product for 1.4k less than the priced in the so called GO/DO…I seriously will try to update pur members for the good. Prices cant increase by 1k overnite and you have got ur sources/distris wrong. Why can’t u admit that. If you cant sustain or post a good price, no one is forcing you to. PPl will see all offers and buy whatever is best for them. You cant deny us from posting the best price. And ya dont give lame excuses like even WD distri cant provide that price. Better buy from the ebay guy and sell at lower prices rather than buying from your dead old distri.
And ya the BEWARE was for buying the caviar Black 1TB for 7.1k+ shipping and not for buying anything from TechShop. I am sure you wont want any of the caviar black 1TB buyer to buy and see next day he could have saved 1.5k almost. If you were the buyer of the same , what would have felt it like? Ask your so called higher ups and come back

Those distri having the new stock after 7th march they are not ready to give the same prices as before
So now you are saying that we are 5% more expensive than the dealer you found (Ankit Infotech), fair enough, I can understand that, maybe that dealer might be buying in bulk, also we are in a different city.
HOWEVER, by your logic in the earlier post, TE members should still BEWARE of Ankit Infotech BECAUSE HIS PRICE IS STILL HIGHER BY 15.55% than your favourite eBay Seller !!!
How easily you explain the difference when a price is higher, how logical you are in your analysis!! I suppose he is also selling at no margin for himself.
How I wish that we too had such a strong advocate as yourself who would give price breakups in support of on TechShop.in.
Again you reveal your short-sightedness, and obvious limited business sense, a reliable distributor as supplier is much better in the long-term than any TOM, DICK or HARRY offering the lowest price.
I never had any problem with your posting of the eBay link, even before other TE members have posted lower prices available at various sources.
The issue was the demeaning and insulting nature of your post AND your implied meaning that TechShop was trying to dupe TE members into paying higher prices.
I hope the message is through and we do not delve further into this.
