Did you try ROCM in linux?
Thats a major issue. Regarding games i have 5700xt which is still like new because it didnt play much games so that is fine.
The only reason nvidia is preferred is because of ai like tensorflow and pytorch they work well and amd does have good windows support.
Performance isnt much different to 5700xt compared to 5060

I’ve never tinkered with rocm. All of my machine learning projects were developed in Google Colab’s free tier.

I never said they are. Just that if u have to get NVIDIA because of cuda it’s better to buy used. If gaming is your only requirement AMD is better.
Used market is pretty good actually. ₹85k for a 2 yr old 4080 super, ₹55k for 4070 ti, these are some prices I came across.
So the only option is to go for a high-tier build, and ditch NVIDIA!! A 9600x & 9070XT build woulda cost ₹1.3L back then, and would cost ~1.6L now. This is a much better pill to swallow.
