What's your perspective on the India's future?

“There are newspapers after newspapers saying monitoring stations are non-functional. If the monitoring stations are not even functioning, we don’t even know when to implement GRAP, that is the severe situation mylords, Let them also answer what is the situation of the monitoring station is, because out of 37 on the day of Diwali, only 9 were functioning continuously ( monitoring stations).”

Even ex-AIIMS chief is saying Delhi pollution is killing it’s citizens while the present chief is keeping mum about health.

If he speaks he’ll face the same fate as Jaydeep Dhankar. Party didn’t spare one of their own, can’t imagine what they’ll do to others.

I thought India, Russia and China are one. But Russia and China ousted us from Tajikistan Ayni Air Base.

There is no permanent friends and enemies in geopolitics.

I don’t know why you think China and India would be in same picture when something as big as having a military base so close to each other is concerned.

You do realise we have already fought a major war with China and have been having skirmishes that can anytime spark a major war.

As For Russia objecting this…I can understand some aspects of it as in terms of India’s increasing influence in Russian backyard but we are both major strategic partners and even India’s military presence helps counter China for Russia.

So Russia’s reaction is bit surprising.

Our government can learn something from their western counterpart. Even when they’re (mis) spending public money, our government cuts corners.

They had a halloween party in the west that was hosted on a property owned by their president and a 2019 inquiry revealed that each presidential trip to that place costs their taxpayers over $3M

My personal opinion is that corruption in the government is to be tolerated, or perhaps redefined. Bribery, not okay. Inflated expenses, okay.

Non-profit organisations pay competitive salaries to their executives in the millions and that is the only way to attract that kind of talent. Not a single person on this planet is going to work for a salary less than what they think they deserve, CEOs of charities included.

That is the same mindset of every politician. They get into the system because they’re going to end up rich. I say that’s tolerable IF they bring about a net positive change for the public at large.

Realistically what is a politician going to do with 1000s of crores? All of that money will be gone within three generations. Money is made up anyway, just paper with numbers. What’s lasting is bringing this underdeveloped country of ours out of the dark ages. Infrastructure, utilities, these are the things that last.

In my city, we have bridges and roads built generations ago that are still serving the public. No one alive today cares about at what cost it was built or who pocketed how much.

Nearly every princely state that allied with the British left behind infrastructure that still serves the public today. Arguably, former princely states are better off today than other states. The descendents of those “princes” however are nowhere to be seen, that money is long gone.

Honestly I think that’s the mindset of our Prime Minister. Corruption is tolerable from his subordinates and allies so long as they do something right for the benefit of the country. It’s just never been put to words because it’s a highly unpopular opinion. People like to live in a dream world where everyone is expected to be an altruistic saint.

At some point, the public will ask more from their politicians, as some European countries do today. But now, today, ten years from now, twenty-five years from now, we’ll still see politicians pocketing taxpayer funds. Hopefully we’ll see some development as well.

tldr: wild claims with little evidence

I dont but the issue is, both state and central govts are trash, and political parties even moreso, you take your wins where you can, and cunts like AAP, who only rear their head when there’s a happy occasion to make a political statement/incite tensions always piss me off, Where the fuck are they on other days? sleeping? fornicating? And this includes BJP in states like Punjab, have the balls to speak or STFU

Erstwhile central ruling govts. worked as collation govts., needed support from many other parties, so difference in opinion were tolerated. Current govt. gets to rule almost as a single party, have hard and fast control over the system. Any opposition will be dealt with ED and various other stymieing methods and propaganda as if the entire system is scorned on that politician.

So opposition now finds it easy to sit on the sides, let people get wearied off the ruling party’s high-handedness, occasionally remind people that they exist using barbed comments and take rest.

Hope you get well soon, using masks may help a little ?

Talked with few of my friends there, they are saying this have nothing to do with crackers, only farmland burning from Punjab and general climate is the issue… Strange world…

I do not think so . Stubble burning can cause such issues . The farmers have also been provided other methods to clear the waste . I am assuming it has got to do with more of Delhi climate and the countless no. of ministries and offices .
Only solution to this problem is to move the capital to somewhere in the middle of India .

Yes, ‘Andhi’ dust storm in north-western India is a well known phenomenon. It’s just that as usual, we Indians haven’t found a man-made way out of this.

Yep, very valid point. States to should make sure capital facilities are reachable equally to everyone.

Going back to op topic. Nvidia wala fears the same.
