We also get Retail product keys as well, for the similar price range.
BTW good time to ask a mod - can I post Windows and office keys for sale on the forum ? (as a reseller thread ??) : @PunkX_75
Guranteed that retail ones are also provided : as my own key got stuck to a mobo, after which I had to get a new key, and opted for retail one, and yes it is now bind to the MS account, and whenever I change the mobo on my pc, i perform a clean windows installation, and justlogin from ms account activates it - meaning the key can be transferred from system to system.
While OEM ones, they stick to the pc, no matter what you do, it is basically bound to the BIOS (or the motherboard).
Office, I am not yet sure, cuz I never bought one, nor sold any.
As long as Iâve seen, office are MOSTLY given as annual plans for 499-799 each, depending on version.
It feels a bit contradictory to say they are âgenuineâ and then also they âcould be stolenâ w.r.t how a layperson reading this would understand it. AFAIK, besides the sketchy sources of said keys, you are violating Microsoftâs T&C by using an OEM key for personal use.
At that point, I see no reason for anyone here to even bother paying for an OEM key unless Iâm missing something. Just use MAS. Microsoft doesnât seem to care at all and they have long pivoted to subscription models and targeting bigger enterprises w.r.t legal Windows licensing.
If someone truly wants a proper, Microsoftâs T&C abiding key, they need to pay for the retail version which is a lot more costly.
Every key is linked to a HWID and account, so a hardware change needs to be activated again.
Volume license keys can be registered multiple times and MAS is the way to go over buying keys from dodgy sources. Worst case you can buy one from sites like Stacksocial where retail Windows Pro key sells for $10 every now and then.
A small correction. MS doesnât care as long as they donât detect its software usage in any commercial environment which does have the ability to pay & that incl not just large enterprise but even small startups/family business etc.
All Iâm saying is OEM keys are not meant for personal use so buying them doesnât make sense if the expected end result is a valid, MS-approved key for personal use tied to your account. You should buy proper retail keys or not buy OEM keys at all for personal use. Thatâs all.
