Graphic Cards 1080P Videos lagging on 9600GT !

I had a HD 4770 which died recently so i am temporarily using my friends 9600GT until i get a better card in a month or so . The problem is Full HD videos are lagging , i must be getting like 15FPS with them . Old ATI driver is uninstalled properly and the latest nvidia driver is also installed . What must be the problem . Games run fine BTW . I played fifa12 , virtal tennis 4 , test drive and even skyrim without issues .
My config is C2D E7500 , 4GB ram , corsair VX450 and 3*1TB HDD's . Idle Temp of card is around 50c and at load around 60-62c .
 
What software are you running?
Any crappy codec packs? running 1080p videos should be possible independent of GPU acceleration given that you have a c2d processor.
