Hey Guys,

Am new to this site and would like your help to buy a phone.

My priorities are no software issues, easy for fast smsing, aesthetics (sleek), sturdy.

Have looked into Nokia E71 and E66 and am kinda incline towards the E-66. If there is any other phone in this range to look into please do tell.
How much will the E-75 cost when launched??

I am residing in Chennai, are there any grey markets i can look into for cheaper rates, am currently planning to buy from either Wavetel or Mobilestore. I am currently getting a rate of Rs. 18,800 for E-66 and Rs. 19,909 fir the E-71.

Nokia 5800 is the best all rounder phone you can get in that price range (i.e if you are fine with a full touch operated phone).

@xtremeshock: Among the ones you are considering i'd get E-71 anyday.

Forget Nokia dude. With that price range you can easily get an iphone with really descent condition...................Think about It. Think Different.

haha i was thinking 5800 and three people suggested already.

Fahads_neo , we all know that the iphone's decent, but its got way too many faults. Plus, its not a smartphone, its more of a style thing. xtremeshock is looking at nokia e-series mobiles, clearly indicating he wants functionality more importantly....

and while 5800 is being touted as a music/youth centric phone, believe me it is a really good smartphone. With s60v5, and the price of 18.6k, if you don't mind a weak camera, then i suggest you look no further than the full featured 5800!

-Fast sms'ing you say. Well i'm a t9 buff myself, swear by it! and i bought 5800 for that one main reason. Believe it or not, the t9 mode in 5800 is faster than ANY other t9 based mobile phone! this is because of the touch screen and the vibra-feedback. you can simply BLAZE through messages really really fast. Trust me on this one feature, its simply PERFECT.

Plus, the 5800 is quite sleek, good enough to look at, plus very very good ergonomics, fits well in your pockets, and is one of nokia's STURDIEST phones ever. try googling for NOKIA 5800 CRASH TEST and you'll see what i mean.

Need more convincing? Just ask! :D

Thanks guys, was not seriously considering the 5800 till now. Also, will the touch screen last the test of time?

Will mostly go and purchase a phone by monday max.

I know E-66 is out of production, but am some how in love with the phone's sleekness. Is it worth considering.

id buy the e71.. u mentioned fast smsing, sleek and sturdy. the e71 fulfills all of them. i personally use the same phone and think its very good buy.

hmm yes, if you find the touchscreen stuff to be a bit of problematic, then the BEST alternative is e71. features are pretty much same, except screen is smaller and its not touch. same price point too.

I would suggest you take a look at N79. Small, sleek and sturdy. Its the dark horse amongst the current gen of phones.

thanks guys,

Went to Wavetel Besant Nagar to buy the phone, it took him 1 hour to procure the phone to his shop, inserted my sim and the display was faulty, planning to goto Nokia priority tom to buy the phone even though it is Rs 450 more expensive, i get piece of mind.

The Nokia priority guy said that the e-75 will be hitting stores by next week and is on display already.

i'd suggest you tie a string between 2 coconuts, and give one end to whomever you wish to speak to. Supports all networks, and it even floats when dropped in the ocean.
