Hi,

I(my frnd) had transferred 1.5k through NEFT on january 30th from standard chartered bank to HDFC bank for this http://www.techenclave.com/members-market/audio-technica-ad700-156727.html. this amount had been missing since.
Standard chartered bank says amount had been debited from the payee's account whereas HDFC is saying the transaction itself doesn't exist. I have the transaction ID from standard chartered bank which is confirmation for transfer to RBI.

I had lodged a complaint with RBI but not replies till date.:@ I also have transaction screen shots as well as seller as screen shots.

Please guide as I don't know with whom I should take up the matter asn the procedutre to be followed

Please guide as to what to do, fed up with long standoff(it has been a daily chore to call HDFC customer care/chk with seller etc :( ).

oops mods plz transfer it to market feedback sec

Ask Standard Chartered to reverse the transaction. There is no other way to do this. You may need a letter from the payee branch stating the transaction has not materialised in their books.

Have you tried contacting seller and requested his HDFC bank account statement of 7 days from that NEFT transaction date.

Debited or credited?

Credit is when you receive money, debit is when you send it - so has the amount reflected in *his* statement?

Nope.........he hasn't received money yet.

In which case the transaction is null - if you don't have a debit and he doesn't have a credit, then the transaction has failed.

Areee the transcation has failed. It is the responsibility of Standard Chartered Bank to reverse the trans and credit you back the money.
Writing to RBI isnt going to make any difference as they receive thousands such letter every hour.
Better demand Standard chartered bank and as for reversal.
Please keep us posted..!

Yes exactly but in his case, he does have a debit while the seller does not have a credit!
