Monitors 24 inch LCD monitors - options in the market?

I'm thinking about getting a 24-inch LCD (1920x1200 resolution) sometime around March/April along with a new quad-core desktop :)

My question is: What are my options in terms of models/prices available in India? I'm in Pune and getting a model from abroad is not an option.

Right now I only know of the Dell "entry" 24 inch model which starts at Rs 24,000/- plus taxes etc.

Any other brands/models available locally to choose from?

There was an AnandTech article just today/yesterday about an HP 24 incher which also mentions about 2 dozen 24-inch models listed on NewEgg some for just $400! Those lucky foreign buggers have so much choice and low prices!
 
Other than Dell, in India you can get BenQ 24" which is useless....

LG/AOC/Acer 24" are also available but i have no idea abt their performance..
 
theyd all be 25k+ i believe.. atleast currently it makes a lot more sense to buy 22".. maybe by april 24" would become as reasonable as 22".. or atleast less tan ta 20k mark..!!
 
Yes, I'm hoping I can get one for 20k (or even upto 25k all inclusive) by the Apr timeframe! Right now its 30-35k which is a bit too much...
 
quite frankly in India...i think Dell's the only one that makes sense for the bigger screens. The only other one i know with the large sizes is Viewsonic and maybe AOC?? I've not seen the larger Samsung/Phillips/LG ones yet
 
march / april - and we are discussing prices etc now? in an industry where prices lists (and product availability) are changed as often as once a week sometimes? :rofl:
 
i doubt lcds will drop too often. i just wanted to get an idea of current models and prices so i can research around a bit before making any purchase...
