Monitors 24-inch LED-Backlit LCD Monitor to be launched by Samsung soon

Samsung Electronics has sent in word that it will begin production of its 24-inch LCD panel with an LED backlight that enables computer monitors to deliver excellent color quality. According to the company, the color quality of this LCD panel will resemble that of the high-quality TVs available today. This LCD monitor is expected to hit the stores sometime in the second quarter of 2007.

All those technology-demanding consumers, professional graphics designers and digital photographers will benefit from using this 24-inch LCD monitor display, because of the LED backlight which helps bring out true-to-life colors.

The LED-backlit monitor panel has an industry-high color saturation level of 111% (of NTSC standard) compared to a saturation level of only 72% of NTSC for conventional monitors and will satisfy consumers used to the crisp colors prevalent in high-definition broadcasting.

The soon-to-be-released Samsung 24-inch LCD display will work well with systems that are equipped with the Windows Vista OS. It’s a common misconception that Windows Vista works best with 22-inch screens. However, a 22-inche screen is not wide enough to actually support full-HD. Besides, experts in the industry have said that 24-inches provides a better Windows Vista fit to include the Vista right side bar and margins.

The yet unreleased Samsung 24-inch monitor also features Samsung’s highly successful S-PVA (Super Patterned-ITO Vertical Alignment) technology that provides the widest viewing angle possible- 180 degrees- at the highest contrast ratio for LCD monitors today (>1000:1). This LCD display also supports WUXGA resolution (1920×1200 pixels) which is the computer equivalent to Full HD resolution.

Most importantly, the Samsung 24†LCD monitor is environmentally-friendly. This is because; the LED backlights used in the monitor do not utilize mercury, which has been deemed an environmentally harmful substance.
