I just ran 3Dmark 11 on my pc with the following config:-
AMD x4 955BE @ 3.2 Ghz(Stock)
Gigabyte GA-MA-785GMT USB3
Gskill Ripjaws 4Gb(2x2) @ 1600Mhz (Stock/Default timings)
MSI Twin Frozr 2 Ati 5850 (Stock - 725Mhz Gpu Clock/1000Mhz memory)
Corsair VX550

The test was run with the following presets:-
Extreme @ 1920x1080

Is the score, X1198 good enough considering the configuration and the presets used to run the test? If not, what should be the ideal score for the given configuration?

i see we have very similar configurations - can you run the test @ extreme settings and 1080p resolution and post your scores?

There seems to be a bottleneck somewhere because at extreme settings the tests seem to look like slide shows even with my reasonably powerful configuration---this doesn't bode well for Crysis 2.

To be honest, these scores seem good enough for your rig. Make a Core i7 would score around 100-300 points more, But a 5850 will score sub 1500 irrespective.

And 3d mark is always at least 1-2 years ahead of its time.

So this basically means that games of 2012 mid to 2013 end or so will probably run on a 5850 with 20ish fps, the medium to more intensive games, that is!

And I see the fate of 5850 worse than this onwards of 2012 especially, to be honest!

and this test can utilize even a 580 sli properly, so the main bottleneck here is the GPU

That way a HD 6950 unlocked score of arnd 1850 seems kick ass :D

Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz + P45 + Sapphire HD 6950 unlcoked to 6970 speeds and 1536 shaders

Let's make this thread a sticky.

[1] Post your exact configuration

[2] Post screen shots of your 3D Mark 11 score and state the presets/modes used to generate scores

Benefits-

[1] Gives readers an indication of how various configurations/setups react to this test

[2] Bragging rights for some
