Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy 4k video editing pc within budget of 60-70k. Could you please suggest best configuration. Personally I prefer AMD processor however if there is drastic performance difference between the two then I don't mind to switch sides. (No GPU needed since I have one)

Need suggestion on Processors, Mobo, RAM, PSU, SSD, Cooler.
As of now, I have thought of following
1. AMD 5700G/5700x or 5800X
2. 550 MOBO
3. 3600Mhz RAM 16GB
4.SSD - I have one, but will buy 1TB if budget permits. 5.750watt PSU

Budget -68.2K

Ryzen 5 5500 -14.4k
Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC - 10.3k
Gskil SniperX 16GB(8GBx2) 3600 MHz -5.4k
WD SN 570 1TB -7.9k
Antec NEO ECO Gold 550w -5.4k
Sapphire Pulse OC RX6500XT 4GB -18.8k
Cougar MX440 Mesh G RGB -4.7k
ANT ESports KM580 KB & Mouse Combo -1.3k
Total -68.2k

What tools do you intend to run? Vegas? Premier or camtasia?

I have seen intels performing better than AMD.

I will be using Premier, and other video editing software like Movavi etc. Other than that I will using it for running data models in Software called Alteryx which is more process extensive. I may keep system idle(on) so Looking for processor consuming less electricity when idle

I have a PC with i7-8700 with GTX 1070 from 2018 and it still works superbly for video editing (Premiere, Avid, Resolve, whatever you throw at it). If you can stretch the budget just a bit, go with a 12400F CPU, great bang for the buck and is better than buying a full blown i5 12th gen while at the same time not being as slow in comparison to i3 12100.

Budget -65.6K

Ryzen 5 5600X -16.9k
Asrock B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac - 9.9k
Gskil SniperX 32GB(8GBx4) 3600 MHz -13.8k
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB -11.6k
Antec NEO ECO Gold 650w -6.4k
Deepcool AK400 -2.3k
Cougar MX440 Mesh RGB -4.7k
Total -65.6k
Baught 5800x at 22k
Gonna go with same mobo
RAM: will settle with 16GB for time being

Memory: gonna use my old SSD as primary and 500Gb HDD as secondary
PSU: 2nd hand 750 or 850watt
Cooler as suggested

Not sure if Op is only looking at windows but if okay with other option why not go for mac m1 mini 16gb or macbook air m1.

it works flawlessly for video editing. I am sure above specs suggested by folks here are good too but 4k might require some serious capable machine.

just my opinion.

Thanks for sharing., I would consider that option if I am bit familiar with apple ecosystem unfortunately I am not. Considering the fact that video that I will be shooting would be max at 4k 30 fps(mobile phone camera) and mostly FHD, I considered above. Again Happy to know your POV again.
